Would anyone do it?

What would it take to pull this trade off?

I'd pass on that. I think Crowder is going to be even better after a full training camp with the Celtics. He is already one of my favorite Celtics on the team, he plays with so much passion.

Think Snell has a higher ceiling, and a way better shooting stroke. I wouldn't mind keeping Crowder, but I think Snell is going to be a special player. Always reminds me of a less stronger and less dominant rebounding Kawhi Leonard.

I love Crowder, but lets be honest, he isn't a starting SF or SG. I think Snell at times seemed hesitant, but hes a rookie who has yet to even go over the cusp of his potential.

The main criticism with Snell isn't that he has no potential or high ceiling, but the fact he wasn't aggressive enough. He has a very high vertical jump, and athleticism that shoots up through the roof if you watch the Basketball breakdown by Coach Nick.

I suggested this trade, because even if they lose the 3pt shot from Snell, they got McBuckets to possibly replace him or as a sixth man. Plus Crowder and Butler would fit well, and maybe give Butler the incentive to stay alongside his good mate from college.

Actually I could imagine this happening. The only worrying thing for the Bulls is that they'd be doing it to use him almost exclusively at SF, because they need to give their stretch-4 minutes to Mirotic. But if they're going with the "build the team to beat Lebron" strategy, it could work for them - get a body off the bench to take the pressure off of Butler to guard him. We'd probably have to give them a pretty good first round pick with Crowder I think.

I like em both but think Snell might be the better value today just because of his rookie contract

I think Snell is most likely a career bench player.

I think Snell lacks the ball-handling, passing ability and shot-creation to be a starter at the shooting guard position. Those limitations make it hard for a player to be more than a bench player at the two guard spot. It's also part of the reason why he is so inconsistent.

Physically, I think Snell is more of a two guard than a small forward. He lacks the bulk / physicality of a small forward. His rebounding is weak for a SF. He would rate among the worst  rebounders at the SF (starters only) position. Again, his limited creation offensively ... so most likely a bench player here as well.

I think career bench player to spot starter is most likely end result for Snell.

One could say something similar about Jae Crowder. His lack of range on his jump shot makes him a bench quality player at this juncture in his career. Unclear whether he can add a jump shot to his game or not ... but I reckon the odds are better that Crowder develops a jump shot than Snell learns how to dribble, pass and create offense. So I'll go with Crowder over Snell.

I do like Snell as a young up and coming bench player. I would be happy to see him here someday. I think Chicago should hold onto him. If he can develop some more consistency with that jump shot and continue to grow defensively, he can become one of the better backup SG/SFs in the league.

Tony Snell had a PER last year of 10.19 and Crowder had a 14.2 and stepped up in the playoffs and Snell did NOTHING in the playoffs!!  And Snell is not a rookie!!

He has played in 149 regular season games!!

And, did I mention that Snell weighs ONLY 200 freaking lbs.??????????

don't really see this deal as being worth it.  basically swapping one bench-quality player for another that has slightly different skills

See it as a lateral  move to escape Crowder's contract that is about it. No real positive besides that.

No thanks! Crowder guarded Lebron well in the playoffs. He hustles, plays great Defense, always cuts to the basket, and he's the perfect Celtic because of his relentlessness & intensity. Snell is a good bench player, but why trade for him when we already have Young (give him some more time!!!) and like 8 potential draft picks in 2016 (a draft class that has plenty of SFs)? Why even chance ruining team chemistry?
