Don't know if anyone else saw this yet but noticed that we have 2 players on the roster from that draft in Evan Turner and Avery Bradley.

Now I would anticipate ET sliding down a bit from that #2 slot in a redraft, falling to #23 which seemed excessive, but I noticed that AB slid to #24 from 19.  This I find headscratching particularly considering who they bumped ahead of AB.

They mentioned using win shares, VORP and BPM to drive their redraft.

   new      original
1 Paul George      10
2 Greg Monroe      7
3 John Wall      1
4 Demarcus Cousins   5
5 Gordon Hayward   9
6 Derrick Favors   3
7 Eric Bledsoe      18
8 Ed Davis      13
9 Patrick Patterson   14
10 Jeremy Lin      Undrafted
11 Trevor Booker   23
12 Lance Stephenson   40
13 Jeremy Evans      55
14 Larry Sanders   15
15 Al-Farouq Aminu   8
16 Landry Fields   39
17 Greivis Vasquez   28
18 Quincy Pondexter   26
19 Ekpe Udoh      6
20 Wesley Johnson   4
21 Cole Aldrich      11
22 Hassan Whiteside   33
23 Evan Turner      2
24 Avery Bradley   19

25 Alexey Shved      undrafted
26 Jerome Jordan   44
27 Jordan Crawford   27
28 James Anderson   20
29 Kevin Seraphim   17
30 Elijah Millsap   undrafted

Looking at these results, what's your opinion?  Are these tools now more circumspect based on these results?  Would you have a vastly different result?  Personally, I think I'd move ET and AB up 10 slots easily.

Thoughts/comments?

It is really sad that this was even published. I understand they are using different parameters to create this draft but the bottom line is not a single NBA GM not even to goof troupe in Sac would agree with this ranking.

My redraft top 10.

1. P George
2. Cousins
3. Wall
4. Favors
5. Hayward
6. Monroe
7. Bledsoe
8. Whitside
9. Bradley
10. Davis

Great job with that list, I think it's perfect.

I'm still laughing thinking what it would take to move 14 places in the draft to take Lin instead of Bradley.

I would say:

1 George
2 Cousins
3 Wall
4 Hayward
5 Favors
6 Monroe
7 Bledsoe
8 Bradley

If Whiteside continues to play great for at least another year I would put him ahead of Bradley

Seriously, right? And this is with hindsight!

Agreed that Bradley and Turner should at least be in the top 12 (9 and 11 from my point of view).

If Stephenson regains form I'd also put him above Bradley.

This is a weird list.  Monroe over Cousins?

Yeah and Ekpe Udoh, Landry Fields and Jeremy Evans over Bradley?  Very unintuitive results here.
And Cole Aldrich, Wesley Johnson, and Trevor Booker and Quincy Pondexter.

Their list looks pretty good-to-great, not sure where the confusion lies.

May think about moving Ekpe Oduh a few spots up, but that's being a little nitpicky.

I'd still have George #1, imo.

I think there's a case to be made for George, but I don't think he's a strong enough scorer, especially against tougher defenses, to make the kind of two-way impact that Wall and Cousins do.

For me, there's not a huge distance between Wall / Cousins and George, but I feel confident drawing a line.  I could see George taking another step forward and becoming the clear-cut best of the three, though.

I think Cousins is the best of them, but I think George is probably ahead of wall. George can guard Lebron James, and has had to do so in some pretty tough battles and shown respectable results. His scoring stats are pretty similar to Wall's, and in his last playoffs he averaged 20 ppg on 43.8% shooting. I think it's pretty fair to say he's an All Star two way player.

Of course the injury could throw everything out the door, but before the injury I think George was universally considered (maybe just my universe lol) the better player.

Paul George, like Wall, was getting better every year and expanding his game. Who knows what he'll do now post injury. Derrick Rose was once a top 3 player.

I think Hassan Whiteside would go top 10-12 in this re-draft as well.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Terrible. There is no possible explanation for putting Monroe ahead of Cousins. My list:

1. Cousins- easily #1 IMO, best Center in the league
2. George- very close with Wall, but I'd feel more comfortable building around PG13
3. Wall- this is not a slight to Wall, he's outstanding, George and Cousins are just very special players
4. Favors- excellent all around player, poised for a huge year IMO
5. Hayward- another excellent all around player
6. Bledsoe- yet another excellent all around player
7. Monroe- very good offensive player, but part of a dying breed of plodding big men in today's NBA
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I think it would be more fun to re-draft the 2011 class.  That draft has fifteen players on SI's recent top 100 list, 11 of them picked outside the top ten:

1.  Kawhi Leonard (15th)
2.  Jimmy Butler (30th)
3.  Kyrie Irving (1st)
4.  Klay Thompson (11th)
5.  Markieff Morris (13th)
6.  Chandler Parsons (38th)
7.  Nikola Vucevic (16th)
8.  Tristan Thompson (4th)
9.  Jonas Valanciunas (5th)
10.  Tobias Harris (19th)
11.  Brandon Knight (8th)
12.  Kenneth Faried (22nd)
13.  Isaiah Thomas (60th)
14.  Reggie Jackson (24th)
15.  Donatas Motiejunas (20th)

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

That's exactly one of the flaws with the idea of redrafting. Leonard fell because he was a defensive role player who couldn't shoot from outside. San Antonio made it look like they got away with murder by trading George Hill for him because they managed to correct his deep range shooting.

If he goes #1, to Cleveland? There's nothing stopping him from being the next Anthony Bennett.

Pretty sure almost everyone in this thread has already showed why it is such a poor list. Not too much confusion about how bad it is.

I'm still blown away by anyone putting Monroe at 2, heh. He should barely be in the top 5, imo, and I'd put him at 7. Landry Fields being on this list proves that this guy doesn't even watch the game. Fields has averaged 15 MPG the last three seasons at like 3 PPG. He's barely a rotational player at this point so having him ahead of guys like Bradley and Turner (let alone a bunch of others) is a joke.
