I think trading for Lee was a mutually beneficial deal between Lee and the Celts.  The Celts get a single season rental who is an upgrade at power forward and helps them bridge another year to placate fans while Danny chases stars via trade.   Lee gets to rehab his value before hitting the free market.   It's strictly a one season relationship.

Well said, and a very reasonable assessment.

It's so silly when people try to talk with a voice of authority on here, like they can see the future. Ainge doesn't know if Lee will be here or not next year, but some how posters on here do.

Even if it's just 1 season, if David Lee returns to form, we have significantly upgraded at the 4 and 5 spot by addling Lee and Johnson.  That should be enough to take us to the playoffs again.  And that will help our young player grow by getting another playoff experience.
