He is not worth anything near that. He is a very limited player and to tie up $7 mil per would be insane. Ainge should be looking to deal him as soon as possible to free up playing time. C's need to commit to Olynyk at center and see what he can do this year with consistent minutes at the 5.

We did that last year, at the start of the season. Granted it was a different lineup, but in general he didn't do very well. he was weak protecting the rim, he didn't score particularly well, didn't rebound well, and wins were hard to come by.
If your going to have Kelly Olynyk at center, you need Godzilla at Power forward.

I really don't think people in this thread, generally speaking, understand that the cap will be $100 million in a couple of years, and you need to base a player's market value on a percentage of the salary cap, not a specific number range.

How about this:

Kosta Koufos -- ~$8 million per year
Robin Lopez -- ~$13.5 million per year
Tiago Splitter -- ~$9 million per year
Zaza Pachulia -- $5.25 million per year

When you actually take the rising cap into consideration, Tyler Zeller locked up long term at $8-10 million (i.e. less than 10% of the cap), is a pretty good deal.

You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Right. Al-Farouq Aminu got 4 years and $30 mil from the Blazers this offseason and he can't shoot the basketball at all. New contracts are going to seem crazy for a little while. When Avery Bradley got the contract he did last summer I was shocked at first but now it makes total sense.
