we have too many picks as it is, why would we want more second rounders?

It depends on where the 2nd rounders project to be.  In the 30s?  Yeah, I'd do it in a heartbeat (Actually, I'd probably trade him for 1 pick projected to be in the 30s).  In the 40s or later?  Nope, we don't need more draft-and-stash-forever players (like Colton Iverson or Marcus Thornton)
I'm bitter.

This.

I wouldn't trade him for a 2nd rounder in the 40's, or a late 1st rounder.  I'd rather keep him and try to keep him if that's his market. He's a good player that I won't mind keeping moving forward.

But as far as trading him for two seconds, if it's in the 30's, absolutely. Those non-guaranteed, close to the 1st round picks are great assets. I'd do it if it's going to be that.

No way, no matter where the picks are. ET was a #2 pick and is likely to be better than any 2nd rounder I'm any draft.

I am not a huge Turner fan, but he is a proven NBA rotation player. I don't understand why people want to downgrade our talent.

Also as celticsclay said, the last thing we need are more picks. Have too many to use already.

Only if the decision came down to that or cutting a PJ3 who impressed during training camp.

But if that doesn't happen or the Celtics have productive 2 for 1 deals, then no.

yes and I like turner.

I think Crowder has room to develop.

Marcus Smart Terry Rozier RJ Hunter and James Young definitely have room to develop and Evan Turners presence makes it hard to develop those players.

For me the perfect trade is Turner and Zeller to Utah for a lotto protected first.

If turner was making a big contract I think he'd have a better chance of being traded.  Guy was arguably the team mvp last season.  I wouldn't trade him for a second pick.  Come playoff time he might be a missing piece jack of all trades for a contender.  Then ainge holds the upper hand.

And if turner is keeping a young guy from getting pt than the young guy doesn't deserve it

We have soooo many picks right now. End of the 2nd picks have negligible trade value, so this would only work if we are trading him to a bad team. But would a bad team trade for Turner and give up 2 picks?

On the other hand, if the team is going nowhere at midseason, I would take the picks. Just give the minutes at the 2 & 3 to guys who are on contract through next season.

With Rozier and Smart on the team, I don't want to see Turner running the offense at the end of the season unless he is killing it.

Let's face it: we are all trying to figure a way to get the roster down to 15 without cutting perry jones, because we are intrigued with his athleticism.  If we did not pick him up, there would be no such threads moving ET for 2nd rounders.

It isn't just PT. With turner on the floor, will Smart be as assertive in running the team? Smart will get starter's minutes no matter what Turner does, but the role he plays while on the floor will likely depend upon who is around him.
