Carmelo Lebron and Paul will be playing for their 3rd gold metal, if Lebron does play. Paul and Carmelo are two of Lebron's best buds of the court.
Paul is not going anywhere, but Carmelo is and Lebron is the GM. The fit is no longer a problem with the small ball trend in the NBA.
Lebron, Carmelo and Irving on the Court together would be Lethal. A trade centered around Love would work cap wise.
Melo is out of there in less than 18 months IMO. Where else would he really want to go if he wants to win. Does he have a no trade clause?
If he wants to win it all where else could he go, Maybe Houston,  Warrior's wouldn't want him. Spurs wouldn't either.
I say he forced his way on the Cavs and Lebron gets his way again for another team full of Jerks, as David Lee put it. Just add a shooting, two guard to that team and its game over. If it goes down this year.

Mozgov Thompson
Carmelo
Lebron
Shumpert
Irving

That team wins it all this year fairly easily.

So, no rumor, link, or statements, just spitballing. Meh. Nothing very convincing here.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Better than what you came up with.
And La-La can travel back and forth.
Carmelo better force his way out of there if he wants a ring.

And I did say calling it now in the title. Which should inform you that it's my rumor.

Ummm... Okay, so who's shooting, and who's passing? You have 4 players who can be go to scorers on the team.. Only one ball...

Also how would they even factor the cap space to bring in Melo?

Lol... You really thought this through.

Terrible idea
Too many guys that want the ball as lethal as that is
Their offence would consist of iso with the lebron/Irving kick out

Plus melo would get flack for leaving his home team as he said he was dedicated to being with the Knicks

I don't think this trade could ever come to fruition.  What could NYKs possibly get back to make them want to do this?  If CLE could trade Love + Wiggins, maybe but Love + scrubs/picks, I don't think Phil makes that trade.

As for the comments that Irving, Carmelo, and James would not work together or wouldn't be a good team?  I think that is nonsense.  That team would be generationally good.  I have no doubt they would be able to figure out how to play together.  James would have the ball at the end of the game and he is smart enough to pass if he is double teamed.  How hard it that?

They would also be very good on defense and rebounding.

I think it is a very good idea OP has proposed, TP.

It will depend on how well Love and Cleveland are doing at the time Melo asks to get traded (which may very well happen).

Melo would be perfect along side Lebron and Kyrie.

Cavs are much better off with Love than Anthony.  He is a better fit, younger, and signed longer.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I think there is a much , much higher chance that Melo comes to Boston than him going to Cleveland, and the chance of coming to Boston is very slim.

IF Melo asks out, which he might by mid-season, Phil Jackson will send him to LA to play with Kobe and get back Randle and/or Russell to add to Porzingis.

This is not far fetched at all.

Good idea.

LeBron would defer to Melo and Kyrie...no problem there.

Can you say Super Team!

I don't think so mainly because I think LeBron left Miami to go somewhere much younger than the Heats. Irving and Love allows LeBron a longer window  to go to the finals vs Wade and Bosh.
