No for now. If we and the Nets were both in playoff contention, and Lopez was healthy all season so far, then probably. But in that case the Nets probably don't do it. I'd do it if it were part of a deal where they also sent out either JJ or Thad Young to another team, as that would make them much worse for next season too.
This is where I was when I started the thread. Surprised more people aren't in that line of thinking.
I mean my reasoning is this, if the Nets look like the pick will be in the 10-17 range, it isn't a ton of value, and the likelihood of Boston getting anyone as good as Lopez in that range is very small. Lopez would be the best big man on the team by a wide margin and may in fact be Boston's best player. He has injury concerns, sure (though did play in 72 games last year), but is still fairly young and is signed through 17/18 (and yes it is big money). He instantly helps Boston a great deal. Brooklyn then goes into full on tank mode to improve their own draft pick so they can potentially get a franchise player to either trade or build on going forward (though for the following reason I'm not sure Brooklyn makes the trade). Acquiring Lopez also probably hurts Brooklyn's 2017 and 2018 records thus also improving Boston's future picks.
