Interesting idea. I still think Bennett has untapped potential.  But it's hard to make that argument and dismiss James young at the same time.

As bad as Bennett has been, he's shown me more at this point than Young, but young might still have a future.  He doesn't even turn 20 years old until later this month.

As little faith as I have in Young and as much as I'd like to get rid of Turner, I don't see the point in exchanging Young for Bennett just do it.

I'd rather see Mickey, Olynyk, or Jerebko get the minutes that Bennett might vie for.  Adding another undersized power forward hardly helps things.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

The problem with Bennett is not the wanting to roll the dice with him, I'd be up for it, but more of a financial aspect considering his next year's salary (which I'm assuming the option won't be picked up).

In all you really have until October or so of THIS year to evaluate him and make a decision on his option, and his option is an expensive one as it is.

If you don't pick the option and let him become a FA, then things will get tricky as well particularly if he does play well.

In the end you might be giving up some low cost assets for an unknown expensive one with questionable control over it.

Bennett is a bad player that supposedly has the potential to be good one day.

Young is a bad player that supposedly has the potential to be good one day.

Why bother swapping one for the other? At least Young is a few years younger.
