The tickets for the Celtics game at Madrid in October are already sold out. Incredible... I checked 4/5 days ago and 60% of the seats were still available. And the Celtics game at Milan only has the most expensive seats available (starting at 93 euros)... I live in Portugal and was really looking forward to watch the Celtics in Europe. I'm so bummed out...

I bought 2 tickets for Celtics @ Madrid in the pre sale!
50 euros a piece for level 2 tickets court side.

I'm excited to finally see the Celtics in Europe! (i'm from the Netherlands)

I already saw the Celtics 7 times on 2 trips to Boston (7 game winning streak including beating  the Lakers, triple overtime againts Denver and 2 more overtime games)

But a game in Europe is better for my wallet  :P

Do Real Madrid soccer fans also root for the Real Madrid basketball team by default?

I was looking for a way to tell my wife I am spending half my salary for a plane ticket Sofia-Milano-Sofia and Cs ticket. Now I am not watching the Celtics live, but I can spare myself the discussion :)

@Nowee - I cannot tell you how envious I am! 7 Celtics games for an European!

Obvious conclusion ---> have more of these Euro games.

With the possible exception of the Lakers, no other team has so many fans in Europe.

I would rather watch Boston play Real Madrid four times a season than any squad in our conference.*

*Save the Knicks and only because that would mean going to games at The Garden and at MSG.

That is incredibly encouraging. I love Euro basketball, and I can't wait to go see some in a few months. I wish I could make it to this specific game, but such is the way of life.

I don't know, do Celtics fans root for the Bruins? :P

lol, they definitely do in Madrid (lived there a couple of years).

if you said sthg like, i am Real in bball but ,ehm, barcelona in soccer, ppl would just die laughing.

same story with all franchises that have both bball and soccer clubs (common in greece, spain  and some other european countries,  but not the case in northern europe, france and italy): for example panathinaikos, cska, maccabi etc

only exception is international fans of madrid- say a russian who supports real in soccer is obviously under no obligation whatsoever to do the same in bball.

Incidentally, from what I read here, city affiliation is stronger in the states than  in europe (esp. in bball). I suppose the reason is there are only three-four good teams in every country in Europe, so the choices are more limited (and the distances shorter anyway).

Yes, but it's pretty hard to get behind management that consistently trades young phenoms for ham sandwiches.

We're playing a european team in the preseason, just like in the late 80s?  Awesome!  Our guys should pay attention - they could learn a lot from players who utilize, gasp, fundamentals :o. This could be embarrassing, lol ;D.

I think it's a RS game just like the Brooklyn game last season in London.
