I was having a discussion with a couple of friends earlier, and wanted to see this board's opinion on the subject.
Who do you think are the top 10 players in the NBA?

My list:
1- Lebron James.
2- Kevin Durant.
3- Steph Curry.
4- James Harden.
5- Anthony Davis.
6- Chris Paul.
7- Russell Westbrook.
8- Blake Griffin.
9- Demarcus Cousins.
10- LaMarcus Aldridge.

Rondo seems to have been left out of your list.

It's kind of amazing that at his age I would still consider Duncan for this list, somewhere near the bottom.

Me too.  If a championship is the goal for one year I probably take Duncan over Aldridge and Cousins.  There is absolutely nothing hollow about any of Duncan's numbers... they are the total opposite of hollow.

This list is pretty good in my mind.  I might argue for Marc Gasol in the 9th or 10th spot.  What's most interesting to me is that 9 of the 10 play in the Western Conference.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'd swap Griffin and Chris Paul- Griffin plated like a top 5 nba player in the playoffs.
I'd have Marc Gasol in the top 10 ahead of Aldridge and Carmelo in there ahead of Cousins.

Very close:
Paul George*
Kevin Love *
Dwight Howard*

That's as good a list as any. There are only three players from your list I would consider even debatable- Cousins, Aldridge, and Westbrook. The only other players I'd consider from the outside looking in are Kevin Love, Kawhi Leonard, John Wall, and Jimmy Butler.

I like everyone on your list except for Cousins.  No team he's played on has ever even won 30 games in a season.  I just can't agree that someone is a top ten player in the league if they don't increase their team's chances of winning.

I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but every other player on your list (except Anthony Davis) has been on 50+ win teams and not only played in, but won a playoff series in the last 5 years.  A few of them have even done it on different teams.  Cousins' team was 5 wins better last year -at 29 wins -(five years into his career) than it was the year before they drafted him - 24 wins.

We don't have one, maybe not even a top twenty or thirty.

We don't have anybody who I would call above-average for a starter at his position.
