DJ was great but Cousy was Cooz. 13 times all star and changed once and for all what it meant to be a PG.

I would include Cowens in the list tho, because I like this guy ridiculously much.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Bob Cousy
Sam Jones or Dennis Johnson
Larry Bird
McHale
Cowens

If we're talking about starting five in recent years.

Rondo
Allen
Pierce
Garnett
Perkins

Oh wait, that was our starting five, ta-ah!

I'd go with Cousy - Hondo - Pierce - Bird - Russell.

I would add Bill Walton in that list  ;D
It is outrageous how rarely he is even mentioned in best centers of all time conversations.

Walton usually gets the asterisk treatment from what I've seen, which is fair given how injury-ravaged his career was.

If we're talking greatness: Russell, Bird, Cousy, and Havlicek are easy. After that you're picking between Cowens, McHale, Pierce, and Sam Jones. Hard to go wrong with one of them. Hell, it might be more fun to pick the B-Team.

Let's go with that list and put Sam Jones on the team. That leaves the second roster with Cowens, McHale, Pierce, Jo Jo White, and Dennis Johnson (all HoFer's).
1957, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986, 2008

I agree with this as well

Cousy giving those guys the ball in the right spot
Larry and the Truth both able  to create a shot at any time and both spot up shooters
Kevin's postup game and Russell's rim protection
I think we win the all-time roster contest, but hey im biased

Havlicek over Pierce definitely!!!! Cousy is a no brainer choice
Pierce and Sam Jones on second team....put DJ or Archibald on second along with Cowens (ahead of Parish) along with Heinsohn

Any mention of Perk in top five centers is a joke....although I realize it was meant to be
