I brought up the same package for Gallo and Derozan.

Is Tyreke enough of an upgrade over Turner to make it worth it?

Would allow us to keep Perry Jones and Jonathon Holmes.  Tyreke can start at SG next to Smart and be a really tough starting backcourt. He can also slide over and play some SF with either Rozier or IT at PG and Bradley at SG.  His $10 million salary is actually reasonable these days and he is a free agent in 2017.

I like that idea for DeRozan...

But an interesting idea.  To pare down the roster, and to keep Holmes.

I like your thinking on this.  Whether the other teams would bit, I don't know.  It provides some talent back, and some soon to be future finance flexibility.

I'd prefer to make a trade for Eric Gordon than Tyreke.  More shooting, and not owed $10 million next year.

Whoa! Have any of you seen the pictures of Sully? He has dropped a ton of weight and looks primed to have an outstanding year.

I would be willing to trade Turner for Evans and possibly some filler, but Sully would be overpaying by a lot!

I want no part of Evans though in some ways he is better than AB. Yet AB is nearly as good as him if you talk offense and defense and include 3pt shooting + to Evans assist and ft+. It's a lateral move pretty much.

Sully looks NOW great ... but i don`t think he can be trusted to maintain this.

doesn't seem to address any outside shooting needs nor really clear the logjam at guard for us.  would also like to hold on to Sully -- would prefer to ship out KO in any deals.

This is a terrible trade idea, and no his salary isn't reasonable... Don't assume with the cap rising certain contracts would be reasonable enough to tack on... No outside shooting, weak defense, and slight lapses on offense. He hasn't been anywhere close as dominant as he was in his ROY, or 2 years after.

Plus you're giving up Sully, Young and Turner? I would expect some picks our ways..

contrary to the posts that have dominated this thread, i like this trade and I'd be pretty happy ending up with either of the 3 you mentioned (gallo/reke/derozan). I think Tyreke slots well at either SG/SF and is an upgrade over Turner. I also don't want the C's to offer Sully an extension.

Sullinger is not a fit - and he is going to cost big bucks as a free agent.

I would rather throw in 2 picks and get Derozan. Assuming he isn't available, I like the Tyreke idea,

Consider Tyreke an upgrade over Turner, pure and simple. Young is a throw in to make the salaries work. We have other guys who can shoot it, Tyreke would be more of a facilitator to team with Smart in a big backcourt or a point-forward type to go with 2 guards in a small ball lineup.

Consider it a way to upgrade talent level for the next 2 years and still protect major cap space in 2017.  Pelicans dont have very many guaranteed contracts. They could use the depth and they could also use Sullinger next to Davis whenever Asik goes to the bench.

Well I just don't want to offer them Young. I don't see why people are so intent on overpaying for players that can't shoot. I would like to keep Young or at least Sully in the possibility that they can fetch us a nice return. Yes, rentals are usually low valued, but if Sully does have a dominant performance like 17/9, with good eFG/ and FG %, we can either sign and trade or trade him to a player that can retain him with traded bird rights.

Tyreke isn't worth anything more than a first round pick, and a second rounder which the Pelicans the year before were intent on trading him for.

I really don't like Tyreke, and would rather take on DeRozan or Gallo. Gallo addresses 3 pt shooting with size at 3, and 4. Whereas DeRozan averaged around 20 PPG in the playoffs.

Ummm... I don't really care if hes an upgrade over Turner... I hope any player we're receiving from a packaged trade would be better than some of the players shipped out.. I don't get people's infatuation with Tyreke.

I like him, because hes a good, but nowhere near elite player. But hes a offensive specialist that desperately needs a floor spacer. The last thing we need is a SF that cannot shoot nor play defense. Trying to put him next to Smart, and Bradley just sounds like a disaster.

I personally like Tyreke but people do realize he is very similar to Turner. A ball dominant 2/3 who can't shoot.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Reke averaged 17.6 points, 7.0 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per 36 minutes. The only players to reach that average this season were Reke, LeBron and Westbrook. In fact LeBron, Westbrook, CP3 and Wade are the only players currently in the league to reach that at any point in their career per 36 minutes. That’s how rare that kind of versatility is. I love Reke. Danny loves him as well. He really wanted to trade for him in the 2009 draft. Rumor has it that he was willing to include Ray Allen in the package.

I would do it.

Tyreke has been an 18/5/5 Per-36 guy his entire career and can play three positions on the court (PG, SG, SF) and he's still only 25 years old.  He has the physical tools the be a good defensive player - I'd be pretty curious to see what he could become with a guy like Brad Stevens as a mentor.

Sullinger is redundant this year, and both he and Turner are on expiring contracts (and hence probably won't be here next season).  Young is looking more and more like a bust.

I don't love Tyreke enough to make any major sacrifices to get him, but I don't think any of the guys listed here are going to be on the team next year, so if may as well get a good young talent in return if you can rather than risk losing them all for nothing next year.

This move gives us a legit starting caliber SF (which we definitely need), it gives us scoring (which we also definitely need) and it helps us clear up the logjam at the PF spot.

I would prefer Derozan (as he's a two-way player and more dominant scorer) but Tyreke would be a nice second choice.
