In what world is David Lee a Center? don't know why people keep saying that .....

In our world, since he most likely will be a C in most situations.

nope, Amir, Zeller and Sully would all play center over Lee
Lee and Sullinger manning the front court. Man, that'd be infuriating to watch.

On this team Amir will be the starting Center.  Lee at Center is a terrible idea.

no use splitting hairs over 'center' vs. 'power forward'.  Brad doesn't.

Lee is a 'playmaking big' in our system and a great partner for Thomas to run P/R with, while shooters dot the perimeter.

LOL....yep! That's what's amazing about how Ainge uses the system. He traded Babb, Doc, cap space, etc. for actual assets. Amazing.

I mean, wouldn't it have made more sense to say 'the non-guaranteed contract (or whatever it is) of Chris Babb?

As others have pointed out, center and power forward designations are basically meaningless on this team. Even Tyler Zeller--our apparent only true center--isn't a shot blocking threat. So what makes David Lee all that different?

And how about this for a bold prediction? David Lee could prove to be every bit as valuable to the C's as Greg Monroe would have been, without the huge financial commitment.

The one where Lee is now the best interior scoring threat on offense, pretty clearly a worse perimeter defender than Amir Johnson, and thus functionally plays center in the Boston lineup. It's more accurate to just say they're (probably) going to go with two power forwards in the starting lineup, but if someone insists on using the traditional five-position designations then Lee's almost definitely the "center".

Talent wise there sorta close as of now but Monroe is younger which you can plan long term on his talents and performance  and entering his prime while Lee's leaving it.  I think Lee is going to turn a few heads this year though . He was literally the starting PF to a championship teams  legendary season regardless if he got benched. He's has clear value

Amir has never really played center in his career. Lee has played like 30-40% of his career at center. Honestly all of our frontcourt players are pretty much interchangeable between PF and C for the good and the bad.

His childhood playing card says otherwise.

Because that's the sad state of today's NBA.

Paul Pierce was a Power Forward in Brooklyn.

Zyler Zeller has averaged >1.1 block per 36 every season he's been in the league so far, he's 7'0" tall and he has a 7'0" wingspan.

David Lee has averaged 0.4 blocks per 36 over his career, he's 6'9" tall and has a 7'0" wingspan.

It may be true that neither of these guys is your prototypical rim protector, but that doesn't mean that they are on the same level as a rim protector.  If I have a guy driving the lane for a layup, I feel much more comfortable with Zeller in the middle rather than Lee...\

Also Lee is not on the level of Monroe.  Not right now, and to be honest not sure if he ever was.  Monroe's size gives an intangible benefit that you just can't ignore.
