It's an interesting glimpse into how little the players understand about the sport they're playing that they think Deandre Jordan is the best defender.

Lol I kind of agree with this but I think the players voted for DeAndre based of on the court most terrifying defender to guard you. Honestly a guy that big and athletic switches on you and you really doubt you can get a clean shot over him. Sure Green, Leonard and others do a great job but guys don't fear them they battle them.

The problem with players is that, I'd bet you they don't watch as much basketball aside of what they need to prepare for an opponent any given night, and some of the playoffs.

I think it's too heavily influenced in the 1-4 meetings you may have with a team any given year, rather than how a player performed as a whole during the season.

Just my 2 cents on why players aren't the ideal candidates to a voting process, whether I like this award or not aside.
