Surprised your willing to stick with Young, I did notice that you put Hood first though, I believe that's a sign..

I'm a Duke fan, yes I wanted Hood most.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I think Young was the right pick. He had the most upside but unfortunately has shown little game since being drafted.

I'm still happy with the young pick.  He's still just 19. Remember how long it took some of the "high schoolers" to get their game?  He's in a similar position.

James Young is Gerald Green. Give him time he will stick in this league a long time or be vital in a trade one day. Too much Potential , too young. Best pick at that spot.

I would have preferred KJ Mcdaniels who was taken in early round 2 of that same draft.  But if i'm only given those choices, I'd take Clint Capela.

God how great would it have been if Denver took Young at 16 and we got Nurkic?

*sigh*

Most of the popular mocks had Young going in the early to mid 20s. He may have been a Rozier-like reach.

Wish we took Capella actually. Zeller and he would be a great center combination.

Jordan Clarkson. Will never forgive Danny...

Really? Bit extreme don't you think. He went 46. Almost 30 spots behind the Celtics pick. Many teams missed out on that one.

Also they drafted Smart, you don't try to develop two PG's at the same time and expect success.

Plus he looked good on a bad team, lets see how he looks with a maybe healthy Kobe and fighting Russel for the spot.

Hood was a better choice than both, plays SG, but also has SF size. Thats some one you can be a bit bumbed we missed out on.

My sarcasm must be too subtle. I'm not big on looking backwards and second guessing based on hindsight. 30 picks later meant everyone missed Clarkson and his offensive stats last year on a bad team ignored how bad he was defensively. His inclusion on the 1st team all rookie was a joke, but not compared to LaVine making 2nd team because of a dunking contest.

I wanted Warren or Nurkic and did not want LaVine or Saric. Young seemed like a reasonable pick at the time. I wouldn't write him off yet, but he has an uphill battle. Certainly better chance of sticking than PJ3 though.

I liked the Young pick, and I still think he can develop into a good pro.  At the time I was also a fan of Jordan Adams and Kyle Anderson, but I wanted James Young at that pick since Nurkic and Warren were already taken.

Capella would have been a pick too, but I'd be lying if I said he was someone I was adamant about at #17 last year.

I wanted nurkic
But nuggets got him before we picked

I had young and Kyle Anderson under nurkic and was torn between them
Different games, similar positions

I was happy with Young to be honest.  He is still young too.

at the time Gary Harris, but now I think Kyle Anderson or Clint Capela
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

At the time I wanted Hood. I liked Anderson also. I did not want Capela, though after watching him last year I would have been fine with that pick.

It took me .03 seconds to talk myself into Young. I'm not overly optimistic now, but still hopeful. He's still young. I know this because I keep reminding myself over and over and over...
