I'm still waiting for the team to announce it. These sources don't mean anything.

76ers center Joel Embiid will likely miss the 2015-16 season.

The 7-footer will have a second surgery after the latest setback in the healing of his right foot, according to several NBA sources. The team will decide whether to have it in North Carolina or at the New York Hospital of Special Surgery.

Was just getting ready to post this! Beat my a minute- TP.

Wow, I feel really bad for him and wish him a safe surgery. On a selfish note, I believe we dodged a huge bullet with this player and I believe if he fell to 6, we would have taken him.
According to that article, it sounds like some think it is career threatening. I doubt we will ever see him healthy in the NBA and that is too bad. He would have been a beast.

What a rebuild.

Don't mean to be a jerk, sad news, but this is why I love what Ainge is doing.  Even high draft picks are not safe bets.

Hahahahahaha.

Bigs with foot problems. Not good. This guy has no value in my eyes anymore. But this guy is living the life. Getting paid millions to legit sit out.

Feel bad for the kid. He could, may become, a very special player. Can't say I'm surprised though. It felt similar to KD's foot injury. No news wasn't necessarily good news. I also wouldn't be surprised if the organization knew when they drafted Okafor.

At least they still have Saric stowed away.

Wow. So the only potential star they may end up with currently is Okafor.

I prefer Noel to Okafor. I think Noel is the center they should build around.
