With Aaron Gordon, Hezonja and Harris at the SF spots (sf/pf, sf/sg)  , Harkless should be available right now.    I think this kid has potential to be a good one.  At least as good as Harrison Barnes.   Since being drafted, he has really improved his shooting (can make the open 3) and  feel for game has improved (was lost at times in his first 2 years in the league).   His effort level on the defensive end has always been good and his length , plus explosiveness helps him get his share of steals , block shots and rebounds.     I think CBS can elevate Harkless game

To Magic:  Young
To Celtics: Harkless

I would trade Young for a bag of nickels right now.
Why would the Magic do that deal??
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

They could use some more shooting.   Young for whatever reason is struggling as a Celtic and could snap out of it , with a change of scenery.

This trade could be a win win situation for both teams.

The Magic would probably want Zeller instead to backup Vucevic.   I would think about it for Harkless and a 2nd for Zeller, since we have one too many pf/c right now.  Then trade Young and I don't think Turner is part of the long term plan.

Moe Harkless is what Young will be if he still hasn't developed after 2 more years. He's going into his 4th year and has zero clue how to play in the NBA. Why would you trade Young for his own worst case scenario who makes more money, and will be a RFA this summer?

Worst case scenario Young is out of the league in 2 years.

I think Harkless' trade value is lower than that.

Ainge should be able to get Harkless at a cheaper price. A late first or 2 second rounders.

And keep James Young.

Lineup would be too congested then

Have to let go of Thorton to keep James Young.

Or make a 2nd trade and move James Young for a mid-to-late future first round.

I think Young's value is being wildly overestimated here.

Thornton is awful....too small , weak , he just isn't NBA material

I would be for trading Young for Harkless

Even if Young's outside shot falls .....he is no where the basketball IQ of Hunter ...who reminds me of a short Kelly O.

Hunter is always a step, ahead or involved in every movement of the ball......called great anticipation and instinct for,the game .   Marcus Smart , Jimmy Butler play like this .   Young does not

Young's is behind the play or movement of the ball.   He doesn't see plays developing .

Young most likely will only be a outside scoring threat .

Hunter helps the team , be a team in so many more ways .

I'm for trading young now while his stock is still valuable .

If Young doesn't have a rounded game by next year .......he won't be worth much .

Best to let him go and work with Hunter.

I thought Thornton looked small also but when I looked up his bio it says he is 6'4". He does play smaller than his size I guess.

About, Young - yes I would trade him now but how is "his stock still valuable?" When was it valuable? You mean from the D league?
