wait, wait, wait, now we WANT bigs that can shoot and play no defense?  ::)

The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

If a team like NY or LA really wants to win now then going after Dirk and Parsons makes a lot of sense.  Trades centered around Porzingis and Russell/Randle could theoretically work
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Dirk is too old for this squad, but we should definitely go after Parsons (26yo) if he's available. Draftexpress did a FA scouting video of him last year: http://search.draftexpress.com/profile/Chandler-Parsons-5050/

He could really put this team into contention in the East. He reminds me of PP with his awesome skill level and average athleticism, although he's less of an isolation scorer than a guy who thrives off ball movement. He can make plays himself with his passing+handling ability (career 3.3ast/1.6to per 36), he can knock down a spot-up jumper (.373 3p%), and attack closeouts. At the rim, he makes up for his average athleticism with a best-in-the-league floater. He also plays above-average defense using his size and quickness, and he's on a value contract ($15+m/yr for 2 years).

My guess is that the Mavs will look to keep him, as he's young enough to be a key piece of their core even if they go youth now, but they might want to tear it all down. I'm not sure how the salary would work but if they want to trade him I'm sure we have the assets to get it done, especially since they'll covet getting their own pick back if they're going into tank mode.

If Boston got that haul for Pierce and KG, there is no logical reason why Dallas shouldn't get their first rounder back for Dirk.

You bet they should make an offer. I doubt if they agreed to anything it'd be something that this board would be very supportive of, though.

This is exactly the situation that Ainge had set himself up for, though.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

But why would Dirk come here?  IF he leaves Dallas, he is going to a surefire contender.  I don't think he leaves Dallas, but he absolutely is going to a contender if he does and even with him Boston isn't a legit contender.

No way Dallas trade Dirk. He's the heart  & soul of this team but i like the  Parsons idea  although i'm not sure they'll tank if Dirk is still there.

No interest in Dirk. He's a surefire HOFer, but at 37, he's nowhere near what he once was.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.
