Am I the only one who feels that people overvalue lottery picks? Is okafor really that good? Philly is going to stink.
You have done the same thing with Rozier...
You have been boasting about him all game but he has really done nothing. Some people have said he can turn into Westbrook but you have a problem with people saying guys like Okafor will be an allstar eventually??
If I had to choose between Okafor and Rozier I would choose Okafor without hestitation
Initially I'd have agreed, but after watching what I've seen so far of the SL I'm not so sure.
Rozier shows many flashes of potential - he has the physical gifts to be a good NBA player, he plays with great effort on both ends, and he has shown he's a skilled ball handler and can get to the basket.
Okafor looks like he's got a nice set of moves around the basket, but is too slow to actually take advantage of them. It seems like guys can just see what he's going to do before he does it, and his effort level just looks meh. He looks a long way away from being an NBA caliber athlete right now.
Sully has the mobility issues too, but (much as I hate to say it) he looked a LOT more skilled than Okafor from the moment he stepped foot on the NBA floor. Sully knows how to use his strength / weight to create the space he needs inside, and he's pretty effective around the basket (even against NBA size) for that reason. He's also a great passer and has a solid jumper. Okafor doesn't seem to have any of that except the post moves.
Sully looked a LOT better than Okafor when he first started. Sully looked comfortable on the court from day one, looked like he knew what was going on, knew where to be, etc. Okafor looks somewhat lost out there and really LOOKS like a rookie.
It's still early so I'll give him time but I'm not liking what I've seen so far...and that's playing against D-League guys.
