We have plenty more to give too if they like Rozier, Kelly, Hunter, Mickey, Bradley. I think Randle, Smart is two guys you can build around, If Julius can just knock down a 15 foor jump shot with consistency he will be unarguable. His handles are better than Smarts right now. It really is impressive to see a big dribble and shake and bake like he does, he makes mistakes but he's so fun to watch, plus he's a possible go to guy or bail you out guy.

You need stars to compete in the NBA, particular on the wing in today's league.  Young is basically the only guy on the Cs roster with star potential.... Long way to go, but potential nonetheless. So why trade him for a guy who has arguably less such potential, then add more on top of it.

Absolutely not. Young is going to be very good. Randle - average at best if he stays healthy.

I'm not sure I would give up any one of those pieces for Randle.  He's a guy that had no mid range jump shot and relied on his strength to score in the paint in college.  That's not going to work in the NBA.  He has no right hand and very limited moves in the post.

Defensive issues will define Randle in the NBA

I like our guys.

That's a massive overpay
For a player that has only plaid a single nba game and missed an entire season due to injury

Personally, I think Young is going to be better than Randle.

agreed.  not to mention he was known to be lacking on the defensive end in college too.  if Sully and KO are getting knocked for their D, the criticism of this kid would take it to a new level.

I don't get the fascination for Randle.  I just don't

I would love to ditch Sully but this trade has to be proposed by a Laker fan as it is so biased towards them.

Let's "ditch" our best rebounder and arguably our "best player".

No he's not. Not in my opinion. Randle ends up having TWICE the career James Young does.

Still understand what so many people see in Young.

What am I missing?

Are the lady posters on this site giddy because he supposedly gained 20 pounds of muscle?

The fact that your opinion is no more valid and true than those who believe Randle, especially being in LA, will never be the player that Young will become in Boston.

Time will tell in both cases, but there is no right or wrong...yet.

Trading the Celtics pick in '17 is dumb because we have the option to swap it with the Nets pick that year.  We should wait and see what that team is looking like before we trade that pick.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby
