Smart deal for both teams.

Both teams? Am I missing something here? Who is the other team?

The one who didn't sign him

Oh my Gosh, this team will be a lot of fun to watch.

They might not be any good, but they'll be very fun to watch.  Or at the very least fascinating.  Like a natural disaster.

For both sides, you mean?

Rondo turns 30 next year.  Even if he plays his butt off, he's never going to make up for the money he has cost himself.

Mike

Yup.  Honestly, best case scenario for him is that he enjoys another 5- 6 years in an Andre Miller type role, whether as a starter or coming off the bench.

George Karl is a great coach.  Give him rondo, Rudy gay, cousins and maybe josh smith and mo Williams .   ::)
I'm intrigued.
By the way rondo was originally a fast break point guard.  He slowed things down for the team.  I wish rondo luck and health

Rondo was never going to make Max money.  I put him at 5yr/80mil before the Dallas mess.  If he does well with the Kings.  I think he can make up a lot of the lost money because of the cap jumping.  The Kings would certainly have to pay a lot more to keep him.

Didn't we have the fastest pace in the Nba before we traded Rondo?  He can be a fast break Pg if he wants too.

Maybe the Kings should have moved to Seattle.

Hope he succeeds there.

Kings F Rudy Gay played an instrumental role in convincing his close friend Rajon Rondo to come to Sacramento, a source told Yahoo Sports.

Rondo was a starter on the Celtics last world championship team.  I wish him the best.

Rondo/ Darren Collison
McLemore/ Lou Williams
Gay/ ---
Cousins/ Josh Smith
WCS/ ---

Would be a really fun team to watch. Spacing is going to be terrible for cousins but they will be a good defensive team and play up and down.

They signed Belinelli so that helps.  I'd expect WCS to come off the bench.  There was talk of Gay playing the 4 more.

Ah yes... Wcs will slot in very nicely in the Biyombo-esque bench role.
