That fact alone makes this off season full of joy and elation despite the lack of moves the Celtics were able to pull off. Plus, the Lakers weren't able to do anything either - which is also huge.

The point of this topic, other than be musing the misfortune of the Knicks is this:

Would Carmelo already be wanting to bolt? And if you were Danny Ainge, would you pull the trigger?

Say it's Bradley, Sullinger, Young, Wallace contract plus the thousand draft picks that we have to get him, do you do it? Would the Knicks do it?

Young is definitely off the board for me. If the Knicks want to ask for more, they can find other suitors instead that would take on a aging 31 year old, who would be willing to take on that lengthy contract coming off a serious knee injury.

I would offer cap flexibility, picks, and young players not named Young or Hunter.

Makes me happy. Phil Jackson should of just stayed retired.

Also I love how you can apparently say suck on this forum without censor but you cannot type LMA0 in regular spelling.

Nay.

I think by midseason he'll be sick of losing and will demand it. He signed on thinking the Knicks had a future, and while Porzingis might turn into something; I think he's still a couple years away.

Yup, that's something at least.

If the price is right, would love to see the Celts trade for Anthony.

I wonder if Phil can talk Melo into staying for 2016 FA and trying again in FA.

I wonder if Phil even wants to talk Melo into staying or if he'll choose to rebuild more thoroughly after how the draft went with NYC ending up with Porzingis. If Phil chooses to change course after ending up with a raw draft pick and coming up empty in FA.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Sources: With New York losing out on Greg Monroe, the process of the Knicks working to close on deal with Robin Lopez will gain momentum.

I like Melo. Let's not fool ourselves into thinking he didn't re-sign in New York specifically because of the money and business opportunities.

I have zero interest in Anthony.....

On a postive note...your right the Knicks still stink

Toronto isn't any better
Brooklyn isn't any better
76rs might be slightly better (but still awful)

I'm not a fan of Anthony, but you put him in a young defensive minded Boston Celtics and he can be very dangerous.

That said, I think the cost will be too high to be worth the trouble.
