Love Crowder, the cost, and the 5 years. Great move.  :)

Deal is fully guaranteed according to Bulpett, so he took a little less money for long term security - but will still be young enough for another contract.  Good deal all around.  This guy is a key component to a good team.  Glad he's staying.

Very nice! If we don't get a SF I hope he starts instead of ET, might as well give Smaht the ball and go from there!

Me too. Jae is the polar opposite of ET and doesn't play hero ball. I think he has room to grow and as long as we're not contending, it would behoove us to give him a decent chunk of playing time.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Probably going to be the best signing of the offseason!

Welcome back, Crowder!  ;D

Just curious, would anyone give up Crowder for Rondo?

I wonder if this means we now wont be chasing Tobias?!

wow. 5 years seems like a long time. but i suppose that in the new salary era, this will prove to be a bargain, so why not hang onto it for as long as you can.

i like crowder as a player so i am pleased about this the more i think about it.
we basically got him all the way through his prime.
Exactly what I though.  This is terrific news for the celtics and a perfect signing.  I wonder if they'll have enough cap space to make it a de-escalating contract to make it look even better.

Get me that #99 jersey!

Another solid signing by DA! I wish he didn't sign Jerebko though. No need to pay a benchwarmer $5M/yr when he's not better than Scalabrine.

Don't think it has much relevance, but might make Ainge a bit more patience if he isn't sold on Tobias. But if there's legit interest in Tobias, this doesn't change anything if much.

Looks like I was wrong:

Sources from other teams and within the player rep community say the C’s were also in play for Tobias Harris and Corey Brewer, but as of late last night, those pursuits have ended.

The Celts had a certain financial parameter in mind for Harris, and when it became clear that Orlando was willing to pay big to match any offer for the restricted free agent, they were out of the running.
