Bos sends: AB and Turner (11 mil total)
Cle sends: Haywood (10 mil)

Haywood is non guaranteed so you cut him

Stretch or Trade Wallace to philly with a pick

18-20 mil opened up, Plus the 6 mil already available, brings you up to 24-26 mil in cap

Enough to add Harris and and another 10 mil + player .

Still have the Contracts of Amir and Jerebko if you need to make a trade .

No way in hell are they trading Bradley & Turner for non-guaranteed contract/cap space. They are losing a bargain contract and solid player in Bradley for only the potential of signing someone (no guarantee).

Sounds good, except they might not have anyone to spend it on.

To me, solid means not that good and not that bad. And that's exactly what Bradley is. Not that bad but not very good either. I'd be more than happy to move him for more cap space. As for Turner, I would deal him for a half-eaten grilled cheese sandwich.

I see what you're after and can understand the logic but I would just assume not strengthen Cleveland's roster.

I have no problem with this strategy as long as you know that you are going to convert the cap space from Cleveland into a player who is better than Bradley who at this moment is our best two way guard. Harris is such a player but you have to know that he wants to sign here, otherwise you are just helping Cleveland get even better.

I would be on board with this if we had the opportunity to sign 2 max level guys, unfortunately we havent been in the running for any of them. It may be best to not overpay a guy like harris or monroe, and instead wait out this year (not sure we should try to make the playoffs) and get the extra 10 million off the books from wallace along with the added cap room.

AB is a cheap contract now for what he provides.  They would get more than salary relief on any deal with him involved.

yes, but remember not long ago the general wailing and gnashing of teeth (and oy!! that rending of garments yet!!) about how ainge was grotesquely overpaying for AB.

my how the times have changed.  ;D

please stop. the Cavs aren't making that deal, and neither are we.  we had our capspace.  we used it on Amir and Jonas.  not terrible moves by any means.  but, still....

but there's a crop of elite free agents that find Boston an attractive option.....somewhere......

You'd deal AB for just cap space.

Not only is cap space useless without people to spend it on so you need targets, And they best be better than AB. But beyond that, Bradley is worth more than Salary cap space. Multiple teams offered Ainge a late 1st and cap space for AB at the deadline and he, rightfully, turned them down. Bradley is a good, albeit not great, player.

Great point.  If Tobias Harris has agreed to sign here, I'd gladly make that trade.

The Cavs signed Shumpert to a big deal so I don't see them wanting Bradley.

I don't think there is anyone to spend the money on so ... no point in creating extra room.
