Let's hope that:

Sully got lean
Young got mature + strong
Smart got healthy
KO got confidence

Not all of those will happen, but 2 or 3 would be a big deal.

I was very happy to read that he spent 2-3 weeks focusing on just defense:defensive slides, communication, help defense. Now add that to his added weight and agility, and you have someone that can play defense on 2's and 3's and is less likely to lose his defender by getting bumped.

I agree but I will add:
Smart:lose bf%, be much more explosive, much improved first step, better ball handling, penetrating
Rozier:better 3pt shot, better passer, and better at finishing around the basket
Mickey: better shot

Article says that James Young has put on 20lbs of muscle since last year.

Quote
“When I first got here [after last season] I was 200 (pounds), or 195,” Young said.

“I’m up to 220 now.”
said by every player in the preseason, that needed to bulk up, ever

Well the combine measured his weight at 213 a year ago. But he was also in that accident, and had the shoulder injury. So maybe he only lifted for a couple months and got big gains. He also said he lost body fat,5.1 at combine, so maybe he's in the 220's and has under 5% body fat ...........

So he’s attempting to grow up. He’s sworn off social media, saying of the distractions that came with reading all the positive and negative tweets, “I just don’t need to read it — some good, some bad, but it’s not for me. It was distracting, so I just decided to put it to the side. I’m about me getting better right now.”

To wit, Young posted his last tweet May 18. It’s one small part of his attempt to build discipline, a concept that was murky at best for Young as a 19-year-old rookie.

I think what Young has done this off-season is really encouraging. In order to play the 3 in this league he needed to gain strength. If he's done that, he can at least get by defensively.

His talent is such that he could eventually score 20+ PPG in this league. Any step he takes toward reaching that potential could be huge for this team. We need a wing scorer, and he could very well be it.

I think people are ignoring how much this team has come together. There's real leadership here, and with Smart, Bradley, IT, Crowder and now Amir, we have one of the most mentally tough teams in the league. Youngs the kind of kid who, if he was in Philly, would probably never reach his potential. With this group you can tell he's getting what it takes to be an NBA professional.

There's a whole blog dedicated to offseason "20 pounds of muscle" comments.  Search for it... It's funny.

Typically it's 15lbs. of Muscle. Lang Wittaker used to run it on NBA.com:
http://allball.blogs.nba.com/category/musclewatch/

But, yes, it is one of the more pernicious offseason cliches.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

#Celtics Brad Stevens on James Young: A big difference from this time last year. You can see he's bigger, more aware both ends of court.

I was thinking something similar: There's probably more than a few CBers who don't know who Tony Atlas is. I remember how my dad often tried to impress me with his biceps when I was little, and he often compared himself to Tony Atlas.  ;D

That should help him actually play SF, which is the position his skillset is more fit for anyway. Great news.

“I’m not going to look at it as being the youngest anymore,” he said. “I’m just going to go out there and play. This year I’m just going in and trying to take everybody’s head. That’s how I’m looking at it. I have a different mental focus.”
