forget about cap space.   It's over.  Treadmill team for the foreseeable future.

Who did you want Danny to overpay for instead?

Can you imagine paying Monroe 20 million a year ? And how disturbed everyone else in the locker room would be

Monroe wouldn't get $20M a year.  He has up to 6 seasons in the NBA, so he'd get the lowest possible max contract, around $15M - $16M.

And yes, I'd (very) happily pay that for Monroe.

Depends on whether they do a sign & trade with Toronto for Johnson, likely using the Rondo TPE and a pick.

FYI, if they use the TPE then they are not using cap space at all for any of these deals.  Having cap space and having a TPE is mutually exclusive.

Most likely, Ainge used the TPE to get Johnson and then will re-sign Crowder and Jerebko using Bird Rights.

Apparently you cant use TPE for less than 3 year guaranteed deals according to my understanding, Amir Johnson is on a one year guaranteed contract so it isn't possible that the TPE was used unfortunately

If we need cap space, and we stretch Wallace, we should have about $15 million of cap space if the projected cap of $69 million holds.

So I guess the next question is.

What's the likelihood of us stretching Wallace.

It seems that Danny has positioned us for a trade and thus that expiring contract becomes valuable, I would say that we are done with the free agent signings for the time being

Treadmill as one of the best teams in the East. And one of the youngest. With the most assets

Three non-option years, only the first has to be guaranteed.
