Brewer is a hard nose defender that can hits threes and go to the hole. He would be a great role player to have.

Hard-nosed defender, yes. Hitting threes, not so much. Shoots those about as well as Jared Sullinger -- 29.0 percent for his career, five straight years under 30 percent.

I'd still take him if he's significantly cheaper than Crowder.

He really can't, though. 29% career 3pt shooter.

I really hope that we do not go for him.  Pretty concedes defeat in free agency.

I see 0 point in signing Brewer.

We have role players, we need to up grade.

Right.  And if we can't, just play the young guys.  I'd rather see Young and Hunter figures things out for 20 minutes a night as opposed to watching Corey Brewer and Gerald Green.

Those guys are nice players, but they won't have any significant trade value once signed, and they don't help the team reach the next level now or in the future.

Always been a fan of Brewer going back to his Gator days.  If the money was right, I'd be on board.  However, I'm not really sure the Celtics exactly need him at this juncture.

like Brewer coming out of Florida but he's been a bit of a disappointment with his lack of offense/shooting in his career.  need a wing that can actually shoot

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Probably Ainge trying to find out what's happening with guys on the West Coast in LA, Houston, Dallas etc.....
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Guys, this is a play for Kevin Love.

Brewer is one of his favorite former teammates from Minny, remember all those outlet pass fast breaks?

I have to confirm, but seems like Woj deleted the Brewer tweet linking the Celtics to him.
