Alex Kennedy: I’ve heard the Bucks and Celtics have some level of interest in Enes Kanter. With cap rising in 2016, Kanter wants a max or near-max deal. For Bucks and Celtics, other free agents are a priority over Enes Kanter. But there is some interest, especially if they miss on others. Reminder: Enes Kanter is a restricted free agent so the Oklahoma City Thunder can match any offer sheet he receives.

Meh-nes Kanter.

I am glad to hear it.  He came on strong in March and April putting up good numbers on a team that was out of contention.  I suspect plenty of teams are interested.  If the Celtics are going to overpay for someone, it might as well be for a young durable center who can score.

There's just very little evidence Kanter can play adequate defense, even as a center.

No thanx. I want a defensive center. Blocks per game aren't everything, but a center that averages .3 bpg in 27 mpg sets off alarm bells. That's truly a stunning stat.

Meh-nes Kanter.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Since Kanter is further down our list of targets I'm curious who is ahead of him.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Asik please.

Neither please.

Rather give Monroe that money or just keep it.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I wanted Asik 3-4 years ago.

Pass on Kanter as a starter.

Isn't the goal to get a defensive center?

Interesting risk to take. OKC are one team who might not be able to pay a max contract to their restricted free agent. Kanter has a lot of upside. He has struggled defensively to date but he has the tools physically to become an adequate defensive center. Good offensive game.

Definitely a gamble. An interesting gamble.

Gamble is the apt word.

I'm not sure if Kanter will ever be a good defensive player (just seems nonchalant and uninterested on defense a lot of times). I don't want a Amare/Barg on this team (first comparison that came to my mind i.e. good offense, bad defense).

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Kosta Koufos is realistic for us. I am hoping it happens.

Kanter is obviously not a good defender, but he is a clear upgrade and is a real center.  He also showed what he could do when he wasn't hamstrung anymore averaging basically 19/11 for OKC down the stretch in the playoff hunt.  He is a pretty decent passer, doesn't turn the ball over, and is a good foul shooting center.  He also has fairly decent range.  I'd worry about him on a team where Sullinger and Olynyk are the PF's though.  Playing next to a guy like Ibaka is a much better fit for him.
