Other relevant ones:
8. DeAndre Jordan: 4-year max with the Mavericks. Your time to shine, Ekpe Udoh!
9. Brook Lopez: 5-year max with the Nets. (Gulp.)
23. Thaddeus Young: 4 years, $44 million with the Nets.
24. Wesley Matthews: 4 years, $52 million with the Mavericks, last year only $2 million guaranteed.
31. Lou Williams: 3 years, $30 million with the Mavericks. No, I don't know how they are affording all of these players. I'm bad at math, OK?
43. Brandan Wright: 1 year, $5 million or something with Mavericks.

not the best news for our pick. He also has Pierce going to the Lakers

Harris at $10 mil per seems laughable to me.

Just Tobias Harris. Crowder can go somewhere else we won't need him, he is a backup / role player. And Ed Davis, well I would rather sign the 22 year old Biz Biyombo and try to give him as many minutes and touches to increase his value and game.

we already have 2 mediocre pf's , would rather have robin lopez over ed davis.

Yes.....!    We need a good defensive scrapy big to tangle with Mosgov and all the other bigs EVERY other team has.

I don't think these numbers are anywhere close to what they'll actually get.

Harris will get 12-15 a year.

Crowder MLE $

Davis 4-5 mil would be generous.

Harris at 10 mill would be amazing.  I would be thrilled.  I think we would have to go to at least 11 to get him.

Crowder at a good price.

Davis is absolutely unnecessary and no chance we want to sign him, especially at 9 mill a season.  We have young bigs we would like to extend soon if anything.

Pierce to the Lakers is the biggest joke on the page though.  Yeah right.

Harris at $10 mil per seems laughable to me.

I don't think you know the market very well (assuming you're saying this is high, apologizes if you are saying it's low).

I would definitely offer more than 4 year/40 mil for Harris and Middleton.  At those numbers, their current teams would be stupid not to match.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Harris is likely getting at least $12.9 million to fit into the Rondo exception.
More likely he gets $14+

I'd like to see Aminu brought here on a cheap long term deal which will help if Crowder wants too much.

I'd rather sign Biyombo for a $4x4 year deal with a year 3 Team option over Ed Davis given his age.

Trying to acquire these role players on the cheap while beefing up their stats would be great.
Surely we can dump Evan Turner for a 2nd round pick and let James Young and Hunter/Aminu fight for some minutes with Bradley and Harris or Crowder.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Read that last line again. One more time.

Ok so I totally thought this was Devin Harris when I saw the headline.

Remember Devin (deven?) Harris?

Ziller basically prefaces the article with, "This is all a load of bullcrap, do with it what you will."

Seems related the to the discussion at hand.

anyone see this - if you are a T Harris fan -

Michael Scotto: Sources: Tobias Harris would prefer not to return to the Orlando Magic and play for Scott Skiles, who previously coached him in Milwaukee.

I sort of like Ed Davis as an off-the-bench shot blocker, but the Celtics could have signed him last year for virtually nothing and showed no interest. Then he played like he usually does for the Lakers for one season and suddenly he's going to get $9 million?

Zero percent chance of that, at least in Boston.

Yeah he was actually pretty decent for the Mavs this season.

Yeah wherever Harris winds up he'll be getting more than $10 per.  And Ed Davis at nearly as much is ridiculous and would probably cause a forum meltdown.

There's more and more smoke around our recruiting Harris and him being interested, though.  For better or worse the chances seem better than with most of the other guys.

I'm sure the team would love to get Harris.  He's a "swing" and a "dynamic scorer," so all the signs are there that they really covet that kind of player (their top draft target, Winslow, seems similar).

I just can't see how it makes sense for the Magic to not match on any offer.

They just drafted Mario Hezonja to play SF with the # 5 pick, and Gordon to play PF with the # 4 pick last year . Doubt they are going to pay Harris a near max deal to have him be a backup , or a starter stunting the growth of their last 2 top 5 picks .
