Considering the Cs are unlikely to land a Tier 1 center, I'm surprised we've heard no rumblings about Chandler. He'd presumably not require a long-term deal, and would cure a good part of what ails the Cs at the defensive rim and on the glass.

Yes, I understand he's not a "building block" for the future. I suppose Monroe could be argued as one of those, but i think chances are slim we land him.

I heard that if DeAndre Jordan goes to Dallas, the Clippers would try to work out a sign and trade with Chandler.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

Cap space is more important than bandages.

The Cs will have cap space for the next 3-4 years.... like every other NBA team (other than the Nets). As for bandages, Chandler would be a gigantic upgrade on the defensive end of the floor.

The Celts are looking for guys who can help the team right now and still be good in a few years when they've finished building up the team.  Chandler has a couple good years left at most.

I'd sign him for a two year deal, at somewhere around the middle pay range if we get one max player.

The Nets money situation is less dire than you think

Flip it around - would you be surprised if Tyson Chandler had no interest in us?  Because I wouldn't be.  He'll wind up on a contender or fringe contender instead.

Love Chandler but he'll go to a contender. We are not that.

His game play fits exactly what we need but Chandler isn't the guy we want to fill that role right now

Would be a very good fit here. If the Celtics brass is content with Sully and KO at PF I would love to have him here. Then spend some good money on Harris. I would roll with this starting lineup.

Marcus/IT/Rozier
AB/Turner/Young/Hunter
Harris/Crowder
Sully/KO
Chandler/Zeller

Granted we would probably have to make a move somewhere. The back court is so crowded!

I really hope we don't sign any older free agents.  Don't get me wrong, Chandler helps a lot and fills a need, but I don't want to get only that much better.  Until we land an elite prospect or actual All Star type player or two, we need to keep the cap space and not sign lesser free agents.

That's why the only Free Agents I want are guys like Harris and Crowder, who are young.

I'm sure he will get an offer from a contending team that will make more sense for him.

No point in signing someone who can't grow with this group. Plus Chandler and any other free agent in there prime or at the end of their career wouldn't want to sign with a rebuilding team anyway.
