As the rumors seem to place the cream of the center crop everywhere but Boston, one center supposedly available for trade is Tiago Splitter OS the Spurs.  An exceptional defender who provides some rim protection, he would appear to fill our void in the middle as well as any free agent on the market.  If the Spurs are looking to free up cap room to make a run at Aldridge, it strikes me Splitter's approximately 8.5 could be easily absorbed into the Rondo trade exception.  A couple of future #1 picks could make it work.

Would do you all think?

FROM The Spurs----we would be doing them a HUGE favor....but yeah, I'd take him---only AFTER we sign a MAX player---cause then, he would fit into our salary structure, whether we're over the cap or not.

I don't think we give up 1st round picks to help a team free up cap room so they can sign LA.

Espcially for a bench big that is 30 and averages 8ppg and 5rpg.

From what I've read at multiple sites, the Splitter availability is about freeing up money to bring in Aldridge.  Cleveland has been mentioned as an excellent candidate for the deal, because of Brendan Haywood's non-guaranteed deal.

Or 20 year old rim protector with a non guaranteed contract drafted in the second round
A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

Push yourself again and again. Don't give an inch until the final buzzer sounds.

If he's acquired for basically nothing, I suppose so. Salary won't hurt too much. But nothing to get real excited about.

As we consider the likes Splitter, Kantor, Monroe, Biyombo, and Hill, the Lakers are going to end up with LMA and Deandre.  Not to mention D'angelo Russell.  It's happening again, as always.

This is a great idea, but can't see SA seriously letting him go.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Gotta be careful----those 2nd round picks you give The Spurs, might end up being Hall of Fame players.

If we go young, go young all the way.  Biyombo and Withey or Ajinca.  Maybe they get better maybe they don't.  Maybe just one does, and that is all it would take to make it a winning move.

The Lakers aren't going to get both players.  You're living up to your name.  They can't afford it check out the numbers.  One of the 2 would have to take less money than max at least and that won't happen.
