If Favors is really available, Ainge needs to push every button available to get him. Idk if he's a guy you trade Smart for, I probably wouldn't, but you'd at least consider it. The kid is 23, He's already a really good player and he has the potential to be even more than that. Plus his contract is workable.

The Jazz have a long rumored interest in Bradley, who would be An absolute perfect fit on that team. They also seem to have a glut of bigs, while we have a glut of guards. Favors is the perfect kind of guy you pair with Olynyk. I would go for something like

BOS trades Avery Bradley, Jared Sullinger, Marcus Thornton, the 2016 Dallas 1st and the 2016 Miami 2nd to Utah for Derrick Favors and the 2016 (?) Golden State 1st

He would almost instantly make us the favorites to win the Atlantic and were still set up very well for the future. Just resigning Crowder and possibly Jerebko would be good moves, and anything else we could pull (Tobias Harris) of would be gravy. Still have all the Brooklyn picks, Smart, and all our own picks. We'd be left with..

Smart/Thomas/Rozier
Rozier/Young/Smart/Hunter
Turner/Crowder/Young
Favors/Olynyk/Jerebko/Mickey
Olynyk/Zeller/Favors

You label Favors as a 4 and KO as a 5 but in practice it's the opposite. Favors is a pretty good rim-protector, and I think combined with Mickey's skill-set we could have a more than adequate interior D.

Sorry but Favors is not a really good player.  Mediocre work ethic. He gets by utilizing his physical tools.

I have seen a shorter/not as long Sullinger outplay him a few times by sheer work ethic/bbiq.

Sullinger is a very, very good player when he wants to be. He was the projected #1 overall pick after his freshman year. I'm praying he gets in shape and gets his mind straight because he has really high potential if he ever did that much. I saw him go shot for shot and nearly outplay Anthony Davis once with those same skills, and I'm not saying Favors is AD but he is a very good player.

Favors is only 23, on a team friendly long term deal that I think might fit into the Rondo TPE (Correct me if I'm wrong). He finally played for a good coach on a decent team last year and put up good numbers. I think he's one of those guys who's effort is effected by environment, and on this team with this coach he wouldn't have a problem.

I think he has 20-10 with 2 blocks, legit All-Star potential. He's the kinda guy I'd trade some of our slightly above average assets for (Dallas pick, Bradley, Sully etc.).

I'm expecting a huge season from Sully. Go through his game log on ESPN for the last few years and e has put up monster numbers against Memphis Chicago Sacramento New Orleans and some of the other best bigs in the NBA.

They also drafted a Marcus Thornton in the second round this year.

20-10-2 would be right on par with Favors' per 36 last season. He averaged 30 mpg. I don't want to get my hopes up for that kind of season, but I always have found Sully really talented and capable of a lot. Great posts btw.

Re: Favors, I have heard similar rumors and wonder if they have any credence. It would make little sense, as did the Lyles pick for me, given his production, upside, and contract. Maybe Lyles was a BPA (in their opinion?) pick, or they feel he can still fit in somewhere. If Favors is available though, especially since it'd be via trade, I will make him our #1 target immediately. We don't sign, but we definitely can trade. Have heard similar reports in the past about their interest in Bradley, too.

Limits us in that we would have to be a partner in move for them to get Millsap back, and no idea what ATL's thoughts are right now re: next season.

I'd rather try to acquire Favors and then use him to trade for Cousins.

Something like this

Utah - Bradley, Sullinger, BOS 2016 1st, DAL 1st
Sacto - Favors, BKN 2016 1st
Bosto - Cousins

Trade seems fairly feasible all the way around.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Yeah they are looking for a free agent homecoming so they can pair Milsap with Gobert. He'd space the floor rather than have Favors clogging the paint next to Gobert. Makes sense, just have to pry Favors away. If the interest Utah had in Bradley was true maybe it can be done.

Jazz fans labeling celts fans delusional

http://jazzfanz.com/showthread.php?41530-Fiesta-of-dellusion-(or-Boston-Celtics-fans-want-to-trade-for-Favors)&s=df7aecd7cb6274171e50b21a92731dbc
Well there were rumors they were looking to trade him. That's not our fault. I never understood why they would look to trade him, but it's worth discussing. In that thread the Jazz fans prove similarly delusional saying they prefer favors to cousins and saying Rodney hood has more potential than anyone on the celtics roster.

Also worth noting they refer to Boston as a "big market" along with Chicago LA and NYK

The label fits quite well sometimes.
