Okay, I'll bite: why won't Dekker be able to defend against athletic 3's?

Rozier could definitely have a next-level floater. That and his p/r skills may be building blocks for his offensive development.

his lateral quickness and leap is average.  Just ok wingspan also.   Dekker has a good IQ and works on the court but won't be able to contain some of the better sf's in the NBA.

Dekker is not a pure sf nor pf.  Not as athletic/explosive/skilled as some sfs and not as strong or long as some pfs.

I think cuz of rosier ainge is more willing to trade smart

I wouldn't be surprised if ainge traded away Bradley, smart or Thomas to make room for rozier when the cap increases and their contracts would be considered bigger bargains

this may very well be the case. but i dont think ainge is in any rush either. first, find out what rozier can do before making decisions. it is very common and expected for most rookies to take a year or more to develop into credible nba players.

so it may be a year or so away before rozier pushes someone out of their sport. until then, the d league beckons.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Maybe. But he is a responsible ball handler.

Smart and Rozier duo did not work very well last night. Both guys were looking to score 1st  the whole night

Will he be able to run the O at all this year? Smart really didn't too much last year, and AB has shown multiple times he can't. I really want Crowder to start over Turner but we need someone to set up the O. If Rozier can do it (and I'm talking on the 2nd unit) it gives us more flexibility. IT can facilitate so its somewhat a moot point on the second unit.

I could see him being able to run the 2nd unit.

Especially with I.T. there as his safety valve.

A young sports writer I know (writes for small RI paper) happens to be the biggest Louisville fan I know (grew up there, father is a professor there).

Rozier is his favorite player of all time. I trust his opinion. Anecdotal and this guy is totally biased but based on all my conversations with him on basketball I do trust his opinion.

He shares the OP's point of view. All of his flaws are coachable and we have a guy who is gaining quote a repuation as a young player's coach.

I am very encouraged and excited to see if Terry can fulfill his potential.

And I also think he makes Bradley expendable. An exciting but undersized backcourt of Rozier and Smart could be awesome, but only if they are with bonafide scorers and shooters. A TR/MS backcourt is not optimal for this roster unless Sully or KO step up to be consistent threats. Then again this roster is not a complete thoguht ayway. Ughhh...rebuilding is so frustrating.

He seemed ok last night, I don't like to judge rookies in their first summer league game.

Not sure why people are so ready to start trading AB or Smart yet. IMO this gives the kid a chance to develop behind them and ease his way on to the court. If in the future he could prove to be a six man than we could trade IT also. I personally like having a 3 guard rotation so 2 of them need to have PG skills.
