League sources believe that the Celtics will continue shopping Marcus Smart, especially after they drafted Terry Rozier No. 16 last night.

Uh oh were not done wheeling and dealing yet

I don't buy that report at all.

I'm really tired of all these run of the mill reporters suddenly having "sources".

I think "sources" use the term "shopping" and "on the trading block" incredibly loosely.

Does this give us flexibility to trade Smart? For sure. But this idea of shopping around is a bit ridiculous.

I'm calling BS. Would we deal Smart for an established star, like Boogie? Of course.

Are we going to move him just because we drafted another player at his position? Not a chance.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Well common sense tells us some of these 19 guards are getting moved. Smart would seem to have the most value of them all.

I don't think Smart starts the season as a Celtic

What about Smart for Noel?

Marcus Smart for Nerlens Noel make sense after last night (re: Rozier and Okafor)? Would Boston have to throw in more than second rounders to sweeten it?

Kevin Pelton  (1:05 PM)

Could, depending on how both teams evaluate the other's talent. I don't know that the Celtics would need to throw much in because Smart has an additional year left on his rookie deal, which is valuable.

Is Rozier a good enough passer to be a full time PG?
Without somebody (like Smart) alongside him to help shoulder the load in the backcourt?

I say Ainge will throw everyone at Sacramento for Cousins
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I think it makes a lot more sense for them to look to unload Bradley, and probably Turner as well.

Smart will be available if any team is willing to give up a major frontcourt or wing piece.  But I think it would take a crazy offer that wouldn't make much sense given what Smart has shown to this point.

Has anyone heard anything about Smart wanting to be traded to Dallas?  I'm not starting a rumor because my friends are about as plugged in as the kid at McDonalds, but I live in the Dallas area and I was balling with a few buddies and one of them mentioned that he wants to come back here.  I hadn't heard that but didn't know if I missed something.

Again, my buddies are idiots so they might've got it wrong so I'm looking for real info.

Here we go again..reacting to a post by a "source".   Didnt draft night teach you anything?  :)

News flash: the Celtics want a mobile Big. Philly has one. we might try to get him (or another guy)
and could use Smart or others to get him.

By the way, giving up Smart and filler for Noel is a no-brainer. How difficult has it been to find an active, defensive big?

How difficult would it be to replace a great defending / questionable offense shooting guard?

Now after answering those two questions... does anyone need more info?

Or better yet the "sources" that Sully was gone in a trade to CHA..
Or even better yet, the "sources" that WCS was going to free fall into the late teens....

I think they're probably still looking for a Philly trade. It'll take Smart to get one of those bigs, or any other "major" trade piece.

That said, it's much more likely Bradley and one of the Sully/KO/Zeller trio. It's much more likely we move those guys in my mind. Maybe sone type of Bradley, Sullinger, Young or Hunter trade for a real C or they could possibly be used in a S and T.

Bradley is probably our third most valuable player in terms of trade. Rozier is a perfect replacement who, if he improves his shot, could be even better. Kid plays tough D and can actually drive to the hoop. And even though Mickey can REALLY block shots I think Ainge is looking to package our guys for a starting 5, then you try for Love.

Idk, last night just made this whole rebuild so much cloudier. Ainge must be working out something. Smart is only moving if we get a blockbuster deal.
