Sullinger+Turner+#16+#28+2016 BKN for #4+Calderon (Prince TPE)

NYK restocks the cupboard with picks and add Sullinger and Turner to their staring lineup, also frees up cap space held by Calderon. They can roll out a starting lineup of Turner/Hardaway Jr./Melo/Sullinger/Monroe (Max FA) and they can pick up Lyles with #16 (reported that they are "enamored" with him) and a late 1st (reported they are looking for a late first/early second) plus the valuable 2016 BKN pick.

BOS moves up into the lotto without sacrificing the future. Celtics then draft:
#4 Kristaps Porzingis
#33 Guillermo Hernangomez
#45 George De Paula/Jonathan Holmes/Pat Connaughton

Porzingis and Hernangomez are teammates in the ACB and could have some decent chemistry. It's not a win now move but the Celtics become invested in the future with a young core of Smart/Young/Porzingis to develop. Olynyk, Hernangomez, and others may develop into better than expected prospects.

Does sound like the Knicks are gonna trade their pick somewhere....Let's see how much Danny really wants to move up.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Not to us though.  Any trade for any of the top 5 picks would HAVE to include Smart.

I think IT would catch the Knicks eyes more than Smart. If we offered IT and to take back JC contract, IMO thats a great starting point for a trade. Maybe add ET or Sully.

Also what id someone falls from the top 3. Maybe someone picks Kristaps or Mudiay and Dangelo Russell falls.

Right now IT is our sixth man although he can def start and put up great numbers. But D Russell would be a great pick up and could start off being our sixth man ala James Harden for OKC.

I would see the appeal of trading up to #4 if I believed in Kristaps, but I think he's got bust written all over him.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I think that would be the worst defensive team in the history of the NBA.
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

Only way we trade Smart is in a deal for an established star (ie, Cousins) - no way do we deal him for another draft pick.

I would see the appeal of trading up to #4 if I believed in Kristaps, but I think he's got bust written all over him.

At #4, I would rather go with Mudiay, WCS, or Winslow - no way on Porzingis. I could be dead wrong and it wouldn't be the first time.

Well you're not going to get the #4 pick then.  WCS is not a #4 pick in this draft at all...

Not sure I'd be interested really.

A trade for a pick that high would need to include Smart or Thomas, and I believe both guys were critical to us making the playoffs this season.

I could be wrong but your idea seems way outside from what the articles is saying.  They're looking to get more draft pick for the 4th and they're all low end picks, so why would you have us offer up so much.

I think it'd be more likely we could simply offer them the 16th and the 33rd.  We could throw in a KO, to give them another player that could start for them.

Also no way we'd trade up for, Kristaps Porzingis.  If the Celtics trade it'd be for the guy we've been eyeing since the start of the season, Willie Cauley Stein.

no, just no.

2 of our heavy rotation players, 3 first round picks (including one that projects to be high lottery next year) for the baggage of Calderon and the leftovers of Mudiay/Russell/Porzingis/Winslow?  that's a hell of a lot of eggs to put in the basket of a draft pick that's anything but a sure thing.
