What say you how much will it take to sign Crowder, more importantly what is he worth to you.

A year or two ago ... a Jae Crowder player would only get $2-3 million per year.

I think around $4 million per year should be the cap for him this summer.

Seems high for Crowder. I think hes worth 4 for 24 but Id be willing to go this high depending on how the rest of the offseason pans out.

Years would be very important to me.

I would only offer a 1-2 year contract.

His value will change drastically depending on whether he can develop a jump-shot allowing Crowder to become a quality starting SF. Until (if) Jae achieves that point, he is a replaceable bench player and not worth a heavy financial investment.

So if some team comes in and offers Jae a 3-4 year contract on good money, I let him go. Right away. No hesitation. No second guessing. Just goodbye. Not worth the financial risk.

So Who, you wouldn't go 3 years 18 million? That seems to be nothing we couldn't get out of. Only way I don't do that is if we can draft Stanley J.

Danny has said they are going to offer Crowder a qualifying offer.   Didn't really hear him say he is going to offer anything substantial.   I think that is why Crowder said last month he will also test the market to gauge his worth.

If we get Justin Anderson or another Crowder like player later in the draft, more likely Crowder won't be back imo

Nope. Too many years.

I could maybe talk myself into a 2 year $12 million deal but I wouldn't be real happy about it.

I think guys like Crowder are easy to replace and Ainge would be able to find a more cost effective alternative over next year or two.

Important to note -- that I hate paying role players long term contracts when no star talent is in place. I prefer to keep cap flexibility for trades or major FA signings.

Under.

I don't think Ainge had any idea the kind of player Crowder would turn out to be for us...remember, he was considered the "throw-in" in that Rondo deal.  You can't go from a throw-in to a guy worth over $7 million a year in the span of three months.

If another team is really willing to pay him $7 million a year, then see ya later.  Not worth it.  I wouldn't go over 3 years $15 million.

Under...

I see him as a 4 year/$20M player. If we have already landed a 'star' or two and were looking for high character, gritty, versatile players, then I may be willing to go to $6M/yr, but any higher and we may be regretting it - especially if we aren't able to use our cap space to drastically upgrade our talent.

I love Crowder's game and think he is exactly the kind of player every championship level team needs, but if we aren't at least 'very good' next year, it would probably be more of a Brandon Bass signing than a James Posey one.

Bumped, Tp to me for guessing his contract within 5   million bucks. At 5 years I'm fairly happy with it. Crowder is a warrior and so is smart, Rozier, and hopefully Mickey.
