According to SI they think that Sacramento would give us 6 for 16, 28, 33.

I think that is a very realistic trade scenario. We of course get WCS in their scenario, I would honestly throw in Bradley too, i'd love to have $9m more to throw at FA's this year.

But its interesting that the guys at SI think that we could get number 6 for 16, 28 & 33

I'll believe it when I see it. If I was Sac I'd be like "Nope. We're gonna at least need something else added like James Young and another 2nd rounder next year and/or maybe keep 28 and we'll take your first next year too"

Agreed, I think they will want a player back and they need a PG badly, unless they draft a solid one this year.

Still though they do seem like a legit trading partner.

Their number one priority this year though is going to be trying to keep DMC happy in Sac.

To jump up that high in this draft the Celtics would have to include Smart...

I was really unimpressed with that mock when I saw it yesterday.  The likelihood of Tyus Jones being the second PG taken is next to zero, for instance.

I think if the Kings want to trade back for a PG (or a stretch big) on account of having taken Stauskas and McLemore with their last two firsts, we'd need to make a move to hop up a few places first, so that Sac could have most of their top options still available.  That said, I think it could be very possible to move to the 10-13 range without giving up all that much, at which point I'd find giving SAC 28 and 33 along with that pick a little more realistic.

I'd much rather take Winslow or Porzingas than WCS in that spot.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Yeah, no way would we trade Smart for #6. I can definitely see some package of 16, 28, plus Young getting us #6 though, and we should do it.

Think they'd need to get Olynyk or Sullinger from us, at least.

I agree that Winslow would make the most sense in that spot.

I would move Olynyk in a deal for #6. Sullinger I would not.

Don't see any problem with this trade. I think the Celtics get better value but since when does Ainge not win a trade and since when does Sacramento make intelligent trades?

The Kings want a PG and Mudiay will be gone by the sixth pick. The Celtics want Cauley-Stein. It appears to be a good marriage for a draft day trade.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
they'd want Olynyk too. I'd give them Olynyk+16 or Olynyk+28+33

Tough to decide who we take. Porzingris or Winslow for me I guess.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Many posters here know nothing of the draft and think that there #6 pick will be a game changer. Good Joke, especially for what some are offering.

A much better idea would be to trade Avery etc for Myles Turner. Then draft Upshaw with the 16th pick. In this scenario we retain MORE ASSETS and get players that could be even better NBA players than WCS.

I'd be OK with the "We keep 28, you get our 1st next year" idea.  Heck, I'd be willing for it to be fairly unprotected as well.  Maybe top 5 proctected in 2016, top 3 in 2017, unprotected in 2018.

I read this mock and absolutely loved the deal for the Celtics. Usually when I am that strongly in favor of a trade, it is unfair for the other team.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19
