How long have teams been playing the 2-2-1-1-1 format throughout the playoffs and the final?

They stopped after the `84 Celts/Lakers series.  Dumb!

Much better sticking with the same plan even if it's finals and there might be more traveling,
Yup

Good question, it was 2-3-2 last time we were there. 2-2-1-1-1 is way better as giving 3 home games in a row to the away team just doesn't seem right.

I was always 2-2-1-1-1 until somewhat recently (and then again more recently back) right? Like when the first round was only best of 5 the finals was 2-2-1-1-1 right?
