Crazy to think that they're are kids graduating high school this year who weren't even born the last time the Celtics were below the cap.

Is David West an example of a player snubbing the Celtics?

If so I doubt it had to to with Boston itself but just current
differences between Celts and Pacers.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
well yeah, if we can't trade our mediocre guys for proven players or sign any free agents, then of course we'll build through the draft.

Isn't that a given ?

You really wouldn't sign DeAndre Jordan if he agreed to come to the Celtics? He's only the first team NBA defensive center lol.

The whole point of drafting guys like Upshaw and Mickey (who you love this week) is on the hope they become 50% of what DeAndre Jordan is....

Uh, no.

Like the Blazers, Thunder, or the Sixers (1/3 of the people here seem to think they can)?

Or the Bulls, Pacers, Wizards, Jazz who have at least two of their best three players from drafting.

Sure none of those teams have won a title recently but only 2-3 have quality management.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

You wouldn't pay Jordan 20 million of a 108 million salary cap?
He's the best defensive big man in the NBA.
I guess we'll agree to disagree.

I was all for signing Jordan and making him the face of the franchise, then listening to Sirius, had my kind changed.  Jordan, albeit one of the best defensive players is somewhat of a liability on offense.  The Clips didn't run their offense through him and he was sat late in games due to his liability at the free throw line.  I'm now going to have to pass on him.

I rest my case.

Ainge didn't acquire all of these picks to make them.

Sorry, draftniks. It's not going to happen.

You don't Win anything in this league with Mediocre to Good Players..ask Atlanta...you NEED Stars...I doubt Ainge wants to build through the draft, so we can squeak into the playoffs.

Use all these Picks to Move up, or trade out-- is the best strategy....Get Stars Get Stars Get Stars.

You win by injuring other teams star players....ask Atlanta.

Make Zeller spend the entire summer shooting threes.
That would help.

they still couldn't beat the cavs without 2 of their 3 stars injured.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
