Depends on what firsts.   I would do three 20 + picks for it.
He already said which firsts. 16, 28, and Dallas first.
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

In other words :
- Draft #6 is considered allstar or superstar.
- Sully and AB worth nothing

Luckily, GMs know value of the players better than "draft obsessive" celtics fans...

In a heartbeat.

Thanks, I might do it.  I think we know what we have with AB and Sully by now.

This is exactly why I'm cautious of the WCS bandwagon, because people end up posting stuff like this...
That haul is closer to getting you Cousins than the 6th pick, smh.

exactly.  that's a lot to give up for just another draftee.  a proven player that's at the top of the game and a top player in the league, that's a different story.

no disagreement in terms of knowing what AB and Sully can provide but the #6 pick this year is no guarantee they turn out to be an all-star or even a really good player.   Who's left at #6 that anyone thinks is that guaranteed all-star?  Towns, Okafor, Russell, Mudiay and Winslow all figure to be gone.

I don't think AB is starter quality but he's good enough to be the 3rd guard in a very good rotation.  Sully is certainly capable of being a starting PF depending on who's at center or at least a first big off the bench.  #16 in this draft figures to provide an opportunity to pick from several players that could be that good (possibly better) and the Dallas pick is only top 7 protected next year with them likely losing their starting backcourt and center from this year's barely-playoff team.

way too much to give up on a single pick that's not high enough to get the players considered to be this year's "sure things".

That's my point!
We know AB is a beast in defense and a very decent 3pt shooter.
And we know Sully can give us 18/10 every night if he's in shape (he has done that and more before).
And you are willing to give those 2 players + 2 picks for Winslow that has 50% to be an allstar and 50% to be a role player?

It all depends on who you get with the pick IMO.

I hate how every proposed trade is a colossal OVERPAY on this forum.

Yes let's give up 5 first round picks for only the #6 pick in the draft.
Sully and Bradley were solid 1st round picks and you want to throw in 3 more 1st round picks to obtain a pick outside the top 3 in the this year's draft??

MAKES ZERO SENSE!!  If there was still a 'taketh' a tommy point away feature, I'd press it for this post...

Posters like the TS and co. would have proposed this for the Aaron Gordon or Julius Randle pick last year... Winslow... Even if he turns out to be the goods, you should be able to get him for 2 out of the 5 assets mentioned (3 if it's a hard bargain). Absolutely ridiculous valuation...

I couldn't agree more.
We give two firsts from this year and a possible lottery pick for next, plus a solid player on a good contract and a PF with lots of potential on a rookie contract.
And all this for ONE pick?
Over the last 20 years pick nr 6 has delivered 5 (FIVE) all star players and it's even less impressive when you check out the list: Antoine Walker (3), Brandon Roy (3), Damian Lillard (2), Chris Kaman (1), Wally Szczerbiak (1). And these are the 6 best out of 20...

While I agree this is a lot to give up for the uncertainty of a yet unproven college player, even a 6 pick, there are a couple of other ways to look at it:

First, would you rather have 1 star player, or 5 role players?

Second, it's misleading to talk about previous 6-picks unless you include ALL lower picks as well. You cannot guarantee that Danny will make the right choice, but you also cannot penalize Danny for the poor choices of other GMs. Include Dirk, Paul, Curry, Drummand, Klay, Kawhi, etc. in this comparison.

Would you make this trade if it were for Drummand? Curry?

In a New York minute - the key is if you think there will be a game changer available at 6 - that's the real debate.

This is overpaying and then some. Not a chance we should be doing anything on this scale to move up.
