Wow, this kid is tied for 5th on the average analytics list!!

http://www.draftexpress.com/article/Analytics-Models-and-the-NBA-Draft-5021

He is a tremendous rebounder with tremendous reach (9'2") and it sure sounds like he could be a SF at this next level!!!

He is sounding VERY INTRIGUING to me at #16!!!

Thoughts??

Ford ranked him in the top 6 or so at the beginning  of the year, his stock slid gradually. Just did not seem very effective to me. Very thin.

I know there are some injury concerns with him, but I haven't researched it in great detail.

The concern is that his preseason hip injury never fully healed.

This just came out yesterday and it might push him down to the top 20.

And yes, he was a point guard in high school and has played forward 1 year at UCLA, he is screaming potential.

His NCAA appearances were mudane.

Here were his lines in the NCAA tourney:

vs. SMU:  6 points, 10 rebounds and 1 assist and 1 steal
vs. UAB:  10 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals
vs. Gonzaga:  9 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block

MUNDANE??

I think not.  He was also a FRESHMAN!!!1

WHY??????????

Just bring sarcastic .

I think there is a very small chance he is taken. Doesn't seem right to me, but who knows ?

I'm looking for the pick and maybe another pick or two ...plus KO or AB to be trade that night.

I think Looney is more suited to being a glue-guy than a go-to player.

I think that is why he did not have big games in NCAA ... which doesn't bother me because I would be drafting him to be a role player. To be an above average defender & rebounder and provide good team offense with his outside shooting, transition play, cutting and passing. I think Looney has the tools to become that type of well-rounded role playing undersized PF.

I think if he makes the SF transition he could be a really good player. Has some good perimeter skills and has a body/athleticism similar to Jeff Green.

However, rebounding is probably his best strength and a move to the 3 minimizes that.

I like him, he brings a lot to a team.  Do  like him at 16?  No.  We would have to move around to get him.

Maybe a poor man's Lamar Odom?

I'm not in love with the player though.  I really think we need to package our assets and move up.  Not a lot of good choices to pick from at #16.

Not exactly a lottery pick is he?

Your sarcasm was spot on!

Shot .500 two game and  3-8 the other.  Those stat lines were against SMU and UAB not UK or the like.
