I really can't understand the dirty player narrative Dellavedova is currently receiving...

The Korver injury was a freak injury. Dellavedova dives for the loose ball, turns to protect the ball like you are supposed to do when the ball is live, otherwise it's likely a jump ball. Korver was in an unfortunately awkward position that his ankle got trapped.

On the Horford play; Dellavedova seals out the bigger man, Horford has him in an arm bar and pulls him down, over Carroll and off balance into Horford's own body, who proceeds to overreact and retaliate.

The Gibson play is the only one of the three plays in question that i would consider extracurricular. The leg-lock is one of those niggling plays that is aimed at gaining a reaction. Sure it should have been a tech, but it's not like there was any intent of causing injury. In the end it got Taj frustrated and did it's job.

Ask your self this: if it was Teague and James instead, would James be ejected or Teague be repremended. It is obvious that the NBA is trying to have a Cavs warriors final. From Perk not being suspended to JR only getting two games for what he did to Crowder (Barnes got 1 game for pushing a player that did not get injured) to dellavedova not getting at least a game for taj's incident. You know twice is a coincidence, 3 times is a pattern.
Add to this all the offensive fouls not called on James(it is illegal to use your hand to fend off defenders), the flops not repremended and the slack officials give the cavs(the ref admitted that he saw that infamous TO by Blatt and didn't act on it). Neither Kobe nor Jordan has received this kind of favouritism

Looking at it with an unbiased point of view, after Matt fell Al clearly wound up and hit him with his elbow. At that point, the "intention" of the play supersedes the area the player was hit in, although it is more probable than not that Matt did get hit in the neck/face area. The same thing could be said if a player punches another in the gut and gets tossed out afterwards, even though the player that got hit did not get hit in the face, the intention to harm was still there. While considering Matt's rolling about the floor antics, that should not be factored into the calling of the flagrant, however he did get a tech for it.

I have to take Dellavedova's previous floor antics into account.  He did it to Taj Gibson, he ended Korver's season, and now he crashes into Horford's knees.  These aren't accidents.  It's understandable for Horford to be wary of him and to react angrily when he did.  Dellavedova is showing a pattern of trying to injure players in this way and Horford does not have a reputation for this behavior. The refs needed to show some judgment and should have given Horford a flagrant 1.
I agree that Matt as a dirty player. During the course of the game he does certain things that prove that he is, and those things are not usually picked up by the ref's. For example, during last nights game after he got tangled up with someone, in order for him to stop a fast break he locked up a guys leg when he was trying to run up the court, it was not called nor was it even talked about. You cant really blame the ref's for some certain calls, they have limits to what they can call, they can only use factual in game play, and not questionable in game motives such as past history. At that point where it is clear that he is a dirty player, then that is a matter for the higher ups at the league office.

It's gotten to the point where, between the ugly ball (37pts on 37 shots??) & the contest seemingly already decided --- that Lebrons games have become unwatchable.

Another discussion of a controversial penalty, another widespread failure to realize that the word "intent" is nowhere in the league guidelines for flagrants or suspensions.

I don't blame Horford or anyone else for being frustrated with Dellavedova, especially with the Korver play fresh in their minds, and as an ex-rugby player I'm sure he's getting away with a lot of smaller stuff the cameras don't catch.  I'd like to see some penalization on him because as unhappy as the Hawks are with him, it'll be worse if he starts pulling this stuff on the Warriors backcourt.  But an elbow that makes contact above the shoulders and isn't part of a basketball play is supposed to be an automatic Flagrant 2.  Which is exactly what happened here.

Ugly ball huh ::)!! The nerve on Lebron to gut it out and try to will his team to victory despite having had to be the teams best scorer, rebounder, playmaker and ball handler for the last couple of weeks!! Guess he should have quit on the team like Rondo did after Love and Kyrie went down ::) ::)

Might be a reference to his time on the Mavs, though I don't think that Rondo "Quit" the team there.

(37pts on 37 shots??)

Believe it or not, there were almost 200 NBA players last year who averaged around that efficiency (1.0 points per shot), or were worse.  I agree, though, the overall shooting line is ugly.

However, I credit Lebron for getting his game together after starting 0-for-10.  Finishing the game by going 14-for-27 isn't bad at all.

Plus doing other things like 13 asssists 17 rebs and defense to impact the game and gut out the win.  Really baffling anyone can look at the game and focus on the bad shot%  esp given the injuries to Kyrie and Klove. Lebron hate tinted glasses I guess ;)

We're all saying that he is a great player. We are also saying that he's not in the best of all time list because he needs the leagues help in achieving his numbers(if you foul out u can't score, pass or rebound) and he is also a big cry baby when calls don't go his way. Yes all stars get mad when calls don't go their way but not to the level of lebron

Horford messed up. You can never retaliate right after something. Just do a few hard picks or have a scrub off the bench level him like Perk did vs C's.
