He caused almost as many problems for Chicago as he solved. Most of his positive contributions came at the expense of other areas (such as Chicago's team defense).

Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis, LaMarcus Aldridge, Paul Millsap, Markieff Morris, Dirk Nowitzki, Zach Randolph, Serge Ibaka, Draymond Green.

All those players out-played Pau at the PF position. 

No way should Pau Gasol be an All-NBA player. He was a good starter but no longer a star.

I'm glad to see that DMC got second team and Klay and DJ got third team. They definitely deserved it in  my opinion.

Sucks for Kawhi Leonard. He had more votes than Klay and Kyrie for the third team but couldn't get it because of position.

Kawhi was also out a good portion of the year with injuries.

Probably more of a Center issue than anything.

Pau is listed at C (and according to bbref played there 68% of the time this season), not as much competition there.

Plus he had probably the sexiest basic box score stats of all those guys (except for Aldridge and Davis who got more votes then him anyways),  with 18.5ppg, 11.8rpg, and 2.7apg, 1.9bpg playing good minutes (while guys like Duncan and Dirk didn't even crack 30mpg).

I mean I see the argument against him, but don't think this is much of an injustice either.

Like the all-D teams, overall not too much to beef with. Plenty of guys in that honorable mention list have no place being there, and I can think of a few who ought to be mentioned as also-rans.
