I don't think there will be one. Maybe a vanity blog ala Bill Maher's website?

Eh to the tv show.

Glad to hear the podcast is coming back and hope he does some sort of writing on a semi-regular basis.

HBO will certainly allow him to get creative with new media projects. I hope the podcast is free and not an HBO exclusive thing.

Finding a venue to write will be the easiest part. He can literally do it anywhere and probably would be right now if not for his current contract.

HBO may start looking to make big moves with the way television is moving away from cable packages. As good as 30 for 30 is, an HBO version should be even better.

Their docs kinda already are (maybe not the actual subject matter but the actual production) and Simmons even admitted in the past that the 30 for 30s were inspired by the HBO stuff.

I for one am not terribly excited about this. I may be only one of a handful of individuals who aren't happy with how HBO ruined my once favorite Song of Ice and Fire series. I hate the way they handle nudity and "adult" content on that and a lot of their shows, pretending that it's artistic, and I think Simmons could go that route, too.

Hope I'm wrong though. Been reading Simmons since The Nomar Redemption when I was a sophomore in high school.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

I doubt Simmons will bring much nudity to sports, possibly to the chagrin of some members here. So you shouldn't have to worry.

I'm pumped. ESPN carries on as a machine that dumps personalities once they establish too large of a voice and don't simply tow the company mantra. Meanwhile, Bill bypasses Sports Hell AKA Fox and goes somewhere that will let him work unfiltered.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

ESPN also proved that the talking head as personality model doesn't make enough money to justify it.

New podcast up.

1st episode was so-so.  Thought episode two with Jack-O was better.  I do like the not so veiled shots at ESPN and their personalities already.

Not veiled at all. Sounds like it will be a theme for a while too.

went right to the 2nd episode first, just based on the "Deflategate, President Trump" title.

what a tool

Care to elaborate?
very toolish to spend your first two shows taking childish and immature shots at not only your former employer but your former coworkers.  Also not the smartest thing in the world for a tv personality to do, making it even more toolish.
