Hypothetically:

If Rondo can't get a good deal this summer and asks Danny for a 1 year "prove it" contract, what price would you take him for?

A few assumptions:

This would happen at the end of free agency and we have the money (so in this hypothetical this move wouldn't hurt any other moves.)

Rondo would get the start and we'd run the O through him.

The deal would be 1 year.

We can trade him mid season if we want.

I'll wait to post my thoughts. 100 Tommy Points to the winner.

Id take him at Vetmin. Sell it as he signs on to prove he is  a true Celtic and positive player. He looks great and scores his 12-15 million per contract in 2016 when cap balloons up.

I'd take him back if he fits what we are trying to do.  I don't think he does. Turner was kind of that last y ear and he may be kept or phased out.  Smart and Thomas looks pretty good to me.  Say we get Kevin love though and we want rondo for star power. I dont think that's happening though.  But i'd welcome rondo back.

Rondo is still a great player imo.  Somewhat overrated but still can do things from a passing and intelligence standpoint most pgs cant.  He doesn't get along well in dallas.  Still is set in his ways.

Is it possible for a player to pay the team under the current CBA?

1 year, vet minimum.
Clause contract :
- Must listen CBS
- Must run and not walk 10 seconds before starting the possession
- Must make butter & jelly sandwiches for your teammates (except for Sully) before each game in the locker room
- Must play defense (remember, you did that more than 2 years ago)

I'd want two firsts to take him back, and Dallas would have absolutely no incentive to do a S&T to give us that.

I would actually give him a certain amount of money but I would want every single protection in the contract. It would have to have virtually no guaranteed money in it so he could be cut at any time. Possibly performance and behavior clauses. Options for the team. Everything.

There would be a " Fan Button". At every game

If Rondo coasts on defense

Fans get to electro shock him

I don't think I'd want him back, just because he's a poor fit with our personnel and he might stifle Smart's development.

I think he should go to Houston.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Rondo is such an awkward player to fit.

Provided we do not get upgrades at 2 and 3, who can shoot better, I just cannot find a good fit with him on the roster.

I do not want him paired with Smart for spacing reasons.
Rondo+Bradley+whomever we start at 3 sound like a lot of adjustments just because of Rondo. Either start Turner off the ball (yikes) or start Crowder and move Turner to the bench with IT. Smart to the bench with IT in a clear SG role is alo development stemming.

The whole moving around for a player I am not sure will be an overall upgrade over Smart by the end of next year.

So, unless some major things happen in FA, my answer is "At no price". Do not want him back now. Just a poor fit.
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

I think he should go to Houston.

I don't know if they'll want him.

I'm wondering if the Kings will still have interest.

I think he should go to Houston.
Between his free throw shooting and DH12's ....that could make things interesting
