The Nets are trying to answer the question, "What would it look like if the Celtics had given M.L. Carr a lifetime contract as GM?"  Billy King is the closest thing the current NBA has.

Would the Nets ever do a sign and trade with Brook Lopez for one of their picks back? It seems like that is something that could help out both teams. We have too many upcoming picks, they desperately need to be able to tank one season to get a talent infusion. I get that Lopez is not a rim protecter that we all talk about, but he would help our offense tremendously.

I feel bad for the Nets but they keep doing it to themselves.

Can you believe that? I really hope they do, but after such a track record of poor moves, I can't believe it till I see it.

Word around the league right now is that Lopez will opt out. If that happens, with Billy King still in charge we could be looking at a top 7 pick even with them trying to win.

They'd be better off hiring Billie Jean King instead

I would not help them in any way but I will say this, if Lopez wasn't a health risk, he would help us a lot. We didn't lose to the Cavs because of defense, we lost because we couldn't score/rebound. I want us to get a defensive C for sure but if we had to put Lopez and most of this group back out there, it wouldn't be that bad.

Now, my preference is for us to get a great defensive C and an SF along the lines of a Butler or Leonard to give us defense and offense. Heck, I hope we get to see how Jae grows as a player next season after a summer of work. He can work on being more than a 3&D guy.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I really dont understand this. Why would they want to keep him?

Billy, Co-GM of the Celts! I will be sad if Nets are good over the next few seasons though. I swear, every time I want something to happen with a sports team I like, it never ends in my favor.

And for his next trick, Billy King instantly turns the Nets into a contender by signing Amare Stoudemire to a max contract in the offseason (sarcasm), lol ;D.
