Yep, make a 3 teams trade and grab that #6 from sacramento. I can give #16 and KO for that :P

Not enough to get you #6 pick ...

I don't get the fascination for Lawson, especially given the state of this team, but using him to get the 6th pick from Sacramento sounds like a brilliant move.

Mike

Why wouldn't Sac just deal with DEN directly? Denver has plenty of contracts that would make it work.

Lawson, #33 to Sacramento.
#6, #16 and #28/KO to Denver.
#7 to Boston.

I'd be down for some Ty Lawson. My only worry is that him and IT wouldn't be effective on the court together. That's what's tricky about having IT as a sixth man.

I'm a little confused as to why we would want him if have IT. they both are on contracts until 2017 but Lawson will make 6-7 mil more. Lawson is also undersized and despite pushing 10 apt he seems similar to IT.

For the price I'll just keep IT.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Not another 5 foot point guard. We have a decent backcourt, that defends well. And should get better.

If anything a knock down shooter at the 2 would be welcome, if you can find one we can acquire.

Why lawson?
He's good and underrated
But I don't see him being a whole lot better than Thomas or being an upgrade in potential over smart

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Lawson is great. He's also one of Kevin Durant's best buddies.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

I'm with Zach on this. Unless there's some serious re-tooling this summer, I don't think the Celtics will give Lawson a thought. No need when the Cs already have Smart and IT4.

How about this 3 team trade

BOS - Lawson, Thompson, Covington
DEN - Bradley, 35
PHI - Thomas

Boston gets the best player in the trade in Lawson and some nice young shooters to help space the floor at the 2 and 3 positions.  Denver gets a solid player (on a good contract) and a nice 2nd round pick for a disgruntled player.  Philly gets a PG they almost acquired at the deadline for 3 ok assets.

Admittedly it was difficult working out a trade to acquire Lawson that made sense for Boston and Denver.  This was the best I could come up with and I'm not sure Boston does it, but I think it is a fairly balanced trade that all 3 teams might be ok with.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I could probably live with that.  would rather have #6 if we're giving up that much but I won't complain about #7.  seems like a love to give Denver though

actually, we don't have a decent backcourt.  we desperately need a starting-quality PG since no one on the roster is close.

And the solution to this is to put together a three guard rotation in which two of the guys can't really play together?

About as good as most 5'11'' guys.

I think Lawson is a much better player than people here are giving him credit for. Even with Smart and IT, I actually think we could use another PG as Smart is still learning the game and IT is a bench player.

Also, I'd rather have Lawson than the no 6 pick, unless we are going to use that pick to get Cousins.

We need proven veteran talent, not more rookies and young players.
