A flagrant and a tech and not ejected? Should have been another tech for taunting.

He should have been ejected after the play on Crowder. Big mistake by the officials, it would have prevented the dirty play and injuries that came afterwards.

The guest ref pointed out that the ejection is more an example than actual punishment. It would send a message that anything like that would not be tolerated even in a playoff game.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Agreed. Had he not stared him down when he was on the ground, a tech or flagrant would have been good enough. Instead, Perk started baiting Crowder from the moment he delivered the blow... maybe he was trying for a double ejection. The refs ought to have given him what he asked for.

He should have been.

For sure.  That was a dirty play, followed by him pushing (or whatever you want to call it) Crowder in the face.

I'll echo others:  if that play had been called correctly, maybe both sides would have cut down on the physicality.  It was just very poor officiating.

Yeah I think everyone expected the deserved ejection for that play.

You have to wonder if JR would have done what he did had that happened, probably JR is a moron.

Perk should have been tosses his finger point was pretty much a punch.  The refs let it get out of hand and tolerated it for the longest time this game.

Perk was doing his job as an enforcer, they really do not have them there to play.  He went full goon mode.  This makes me like him a little less.

He should have been.

Yup.  I'm guessing he's gets nailed with a one game suspension.

If he gets nailed with a 1 game suspension, will any one notice?  Either way, I know that this is probably just me disliking Lebron James as a player/persona or whatever, but his reaction to this whole scrum if you will is exactly what I don't like about him.  His teammates were jumping in, getting involved in keeping things from getting out of hand and he walked by in the background looking like he could care less.  I thought the whole thing was premeditated and Lebron's demeanor did nothing to make me think it wasn't.

Yes, some will say it was the smart thing, he is too important, blah blah blah.  No one is too important to stand with their team IMO.

I know, he is dominant and he is a physical presence.  He is a great player.  He would make whatever team he was on better.  I just don't like him and truly would not want to ever see him in Celtic green.  (not like that is a concern, haha!)

This seemed like such an easy call to make from the refs, and they blew it.

Because he's on Lebron's team.

Yeah, two blows to the face seems like one more than you'd need for an automatic ejection.  Real head-scratcher and may have contributed to Crowder's injury (bad for us) and Smith's ejection/possible suspension (bad for them).  Both teams likely suffered due to the refs failing to clamp down on the physicality when they had an easy opportunity.
