These guys can either be serious about wanting to start or just be content coming off the bench.

Sullinger tonight had a heck of a game.  I hope he can lose 20 pounds of fat without losing much strength.   Needs to keep working on the 3 point shot.  If he can make 3's at the rate Jererbko (when wide open) did that will be a big bonus

KO -  Benched for most of the series. Had a great game 1 in the 1st quarter offensively, but got in foul trouble too frequently.  Was in foul problems again for the next 2 out of 3 games.  CBS wanted to prevent having Cavs go to the line too quickly.  Strength was not there to handle Mozgov nor Thompson.  He needs to lift really heavy this offseason.

These guys might end up being career backups. But there is always a what If both of these guys optimized their bodies for the NBA , how much better they could play.

With Bass and also Jerebko not possibly coming back, unless we can sign a key FA ,  Zeller, KO and Sully will see alot of mins on the court.  Hoping they can take the next step

Sullinger would gain a lot of respect if he actually got into shape. However I don't think Jared has been in shape his entire life so I don't know if he can do it. Best of luck to him as it's probably the difference between a solid NBA career and only lasting another 4 or 5 years.

Olynyk wins my respect if he just cuts his hair.

I'll be surprised if they're both on the roster in September.

Toronto has a TPE large enough to take on KO. If I were Ainge, and they offered the #20, I'd consider it.

I hate seeing Sullinger take so many three pointers. Around 25% of his FGAs this season were three pointers. That is too much. He is such a skilled and well rounded big man. That is too much dependance on the three. Especially for a guy who isn't a top long range shooter.

I much prefer seeing Sully around that 16-20 foot range. At that part of the court, Sully is better able to take advantage of (1) midrange and long two point jump-shooting (2) passing opportunities (3) driving situations (4) offensive rebounding opportunities (5) using that big body of his to set screens.

Sully becomes too one dimensional at the three point line. A spot up shooter. Those shots are worth more but he receives far less opportunities to make incisive passes, to attack offensive rebounds and he is so slow and awkward on those longer drives.

I'd rather have the multitude of those increased opportunities at 15-20 foot range than just the higher eFG% spot up shooting opportunities.

Is there anyone at #20 that you like?

The likelihood of guys taken at 20, even in a really good draft, of becoming as useful as KO, is not great.

I agree that Sully shouldn't be taking a quarter of his shots from outside.  But I believe he needs the three pointer in his arsenal, taking two or three shots from distance per game.

I'd be happy with around 10% of his shots coming from three point range for now.

If Sully starts hitting his threes at a 35+%, he should increase the number of threes he takes.

Actually yeah. I wouldn't mind if KO would cut his hair also.

With Sully it will come down to losing weight. If he can lose weight I think it will improve his quickness and allow him to attack close outs more effectively. If he attacks close outs better and more often then he is shooting less 3's and getting more high percentage shots at the rim.

I think Olynyk can improve slightly on defense but his game would look a lot better if the C's improved their offensive pieces as a team. With his ability to shoot adding more players that can create spot up opportunities for him would be huge.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

exactly. I think we need to wait it out and see what KO can do with a pro body. He has progressed from last season.  He needs to become more chiselled.  Same with Sullinger

you know what we haven't seen is either guys play with a proper rim protector yet. And someone that can command a double team in the offensive end.  KO and Sully can shoot alot more open threes then

Harrell or Hollis-Jefferson. DraftExpress has them both in the early twenties.

If I could swap KO for a junkyard dog whose ceiling is a rebounding specialist, I think I'd do it.

I think it's too early to give up on Sully and games like tonight show why. He was one of our best players this season pre-injury. I would definitely consider Kelly for #20 if we were planning on taking Portis at 16. This series really showed that he can't hang with the tough bigs that are on most playoff teams. His offense can be solid but he is no match on defense or the boards. At 20 I think a shooter like RJ Hunter or a hustle, defensive player like RHJ or Harrell would be a good fit.

I thought Sully played tough today, but this is a big summer for him.   It is big for the whole team, KO need to work on stuff, Young needs to work on stuff, Smart needs to develop and lock down his elusive jumpshot.
