As MOST will be going after Aldridge and Lopez, in that order, how about we throw a nice contract offer to Meyers Leonard??

He has another year on his contract, doesn't he?

If he is a FA, I'd be happy to take a chance on him.

Soft, with some skills, hardly a rim protector or rebounder though.

My impression is that he's basically Zeller with three-point range, so...

Team is short on bigs so I'd do a small deal for him. Seems like he could be a good back up center.

still got 2years with the last year as a qualifying offer. and his stats are not bad for a 3rd-4th option center there.

I have a long running interest in Leonard on our team. He is VERY under utilized in Portland. We would either need to trade or wait for him to be a FA.

That career blocks per game number of .3 per game with 14.7 mpgs would be a deal killer for me. We need rim protection. We already have Zeller for nonrim protection.

He would be an interesting fit in Stevens system. His 3pt shot would open up the team to playing a PF with limited range. The big thing is to compare him to Zeller. He is longer and more athletic, is a slightly better per 40 RBer and has longer range. Not sure he would ever cut it as a playoff teams starting center but could be an interesting role player.

He can't outplay Chris Kaman, I fear its not under use but just a bust.

Definately go after him.  He was a beast in college and one guy I had hoped we could get.  He would fit in nicely.

I brought up trading for him in january or February and it was pretty much laughed off . Seems like people have changed their opinion , though I don't see him as a starter .....

I didn't laugh at you rondohondo:-)))  Kudos for the original idea.  I have been watching his stats since he came into the league.

i wouldnt want to go after him
hes decent but not overwhelming good

also i think blazers see him as a big part of their future and that they have just been developing him (they havent tried to trade him or included him in any trades which may be a sign)
